Coffee Chat no. 29 | March Wrap-Up

coffee chat

Hi, hello! I honestly can’t believe it has been two weeks since I last posted. And, only my second post of March … whoops.

Life just happened this month, ya know? I’m very much the person that drastically pulls back or lets things fall to the wayside when things get too hectic or overwhelming. That’s not always the best coping mechanism, but it’s something I’m painfully aware of and always trying to improve.

That said, part of the reason new blog posts seem to fall last on my priority list these days is because I’m so ridiculously uninspired. That doesn’t mean I don’t have several ideas and drafts started; however, in light of the ever-changing news cycle across the country, it just never seems like the right/appropriate/good time to share light-hearted content. Maybe that’s me internalizing things too deeply, but I never want to come across insensitive or like I’m not paying attention. Because I am. Perhaps too much. It’s something I’m working through and trying to find a balance with, so hang in there with me.

It also has been too damn long since I overhauled this space. Everything feels so blah, so I can only imagine how you feel when you visit – ha! 😉 I always want my blog to best reflect me and my life at any given time, and it’s definitely not doing that right now. So that’s a priority for the near future. Stay tuned!

A few other things …

We watched and finished Defending Jacob on Apple TV this week. Unfortunately, we were left very unfulfilled, but it was still a solid crime drama that’s worth a shot if you’ve watched everything else. Plus, Chris Evans – need I say anything more?

How cute is this graphic tee?! It’s going to be on major repeat this spring/summer. I also ordered this dress because it looks exactly like an old Madewell style that I adored but never purchased. Looks like it’ll be so cute with a denim jacket and sneakers.

I love, love, LOVE T. Swift’s new song with Maren Morris. She’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Jess’ post about being in a style rut is spot on. Exactly how I’m feeling these days!

Cheers to the start of a new week!

I relate to this SO much and find myself struggling to want to post certain topics when so much is going on in the world. But I try to remind myself that most of the world wants/craves for positive distractions. Overall, I feel like the last year has felt like the crappiest long winter, so if breaks are needed, take it! Your well-being ALWAYS comes first. Sending all the love your way, friend!

I 100% feel you on being overwhelmed by the world and politics and the pandemic, and the weird balance of “do I mention it because it’s SO FREAKING IMPORTANT GAH, or do I provide something that’s a nice escape that doesn’t mention it…?” It’s okay to care too much, and to have no energy because of it (there are still articles coming out all the time about how the pandemic alone [even ignoring politics] is still sapping our energy, and that’s okay).

I can’t remember if I’ve ever commented here before, but I found you through Alissa at Honestly Relatable and have enjoyed your pictures and content over the past six months or so. I honestly just love lifestyle blogs so much and seeing cool people get really enthusiastic about whatever they’re enthusiastic about with lots of fun pictures (and also having posts like this one, because we all need the more serious moments sometimes, too). You seem like a cool person. 🙂 Looking forward to seeing what new posts you come up with, that fit with your life better!

I always enjoy your posts – so whenever you want to post please do!! We really liked Defending Jacob but agree that the end was too much of a cliffhanger!

I think we’re all trying to adjust to a “new normal” these days, so be kind to yourself!
