It’s that time of the year where, like clockwork, I’m ready for a closet overhaul.
Before we left for vacation, I pulled out my spring/summer clothes and was appalled at the lack of options. I’m talking like three tops and a couple lightweight sweaters. Third world problems, I know. But, on the bright side this gives me the opportunity to build on a practically blank slate to create a warm weather wardrobe that I love!
Non-breaking news here that I lean toward a neutral wardrobe. I can’t help it! Even trendier items look and feel more timeless in a crisp neutral. Plus, I’ve recognized over the years that I would rather have less items in my closet and re-wear the same items multiple times, opposed to having too much. So, a neutral wardrobe makes it easier for me to mix and match to breathe fresh life into the same old!
Tops: chambray shirt | striped tee | eyelet blouse | henley | jacket
Pants: ivory skinnies | green chinos | wide-leg ponte pants
Dresses: blue maxi | cream dress
Shoes & Accessories: hobo bag | hat | espadrilles | layered necklaces
Although not exactly evidenced by the above inspiration board, I am trying my hardest to incorporate a bit more color into my everyday. Mostly in tops and accessories because that’s where I feel most comfortable. I find myself gravitating toward a lot of red/coral and mint lately! Oh, and give me all the floral prints (for spring? Groundbreaking).
I’m also slowly moving away from skinny jeans. Don’t get me wrong – I will ALWAYS come back to them because they’re my ride-or-die until the end. But, I’ve been crushing on all the wide- and straight-leg styles. They’re surprisingly super flattering! And versatile. It’s a nice departure from what I’m used to without getting too crazy. 😉
What are you most excited to wear come spring?!
