Room Refresh Reveal: The Front Living Room

As you know, I’ve been working on refreshing our front living room and I’m excited to share the reveal today!

Here’s a little reminder as to what the room looked like most-recently. This sure makes me miss our Christmas decorations and village!

Isn’t she pretty?! I think so. 😉

I was amazed at how quickly and easily this room refresh came together. My vision was pretty clear-cut as evidenced by my inspiration board, which helped to stay on track. Plus, I did a lot of shopping of our own things and rediscovered some absolute gems that were hanging out in the basement. Love when that happens!

My favorite new addition to the room? This bookshelf. I always felt like there was too much space on that side of the faux fireplace, especially with the vaulted ceiling in that room. This bookshelf answered all my prayers – height, minimalist design and a gorgeous wood tone to add some warmth/dimension to the space. I finally can display some of my very-favorite coffee table books, as well as have a new, stylish home for my record player and vinyls. I. Am. In. Love.

Also notice how the new chairs’ legs tie-in with the bookshelf. Seriously couldn’t have planned that better myself! We’re obsessed with these chairs – the color, material, comfort. They are a total win.

The best decision we finally figured out and made for this space was a rug that was the right size. We had a 5×7 or 5×8 rug, and with the furniture anchored on it everything felt crowded. Now, with an 8×10 rug the room looks the size that it’s meant to be and our furniture can comfortably fit opposed to looking like we shoved it all in there!

I was 100% influenced by every blogger and Instagrammer out there on this rug. But, I totally get it! It’s great quality for an affordable price, and the pattern is subtle but still brings enough pop to the space. The colors work well with any type of decor, too!

That’s the gist of the room refresh reveal of the front living room! Some things are still a work-in-progress. I can’t find a coffee table that I love for the life of me, decor is fluid and ever-changing, and we may eventually repaint … But for now, I consider the room finished and it continues to be one of my very-favorite spots in the house!

I did my best to source and link big items, but if I missed something check this post or email me!
