10 Things I Loved in January

Real talk here: I’ve had a permanent passenger seat on the struggle bus lately. Last month felt like it lasted 84 years, and I don’t think we’ve seen the sun in nearly as long (no, that’s not an exaggeration – the Midwest dreariness is breaking records). So, can you blame me?! Honestly, I thought for sure that when I sat down to write this post that I would have maybe two things to talk about – both T.V.-related because well, we can’t do much else right now. BUT, luckily for you (and my mental well-being) I pulled it together and easily came up with 10 things I loved in January – obviously the month wasn’t a total waste!

10 things i loved in january

Beauty faves

The Charlotte Tilbury all-in-one palette was not only a Christmas gift, but it’s also the most luxurious/high-end makeup that I own. And, I’ve been using it nearly every single day. It gives such a pretty, natural glow!

A couple drugstore gems … This Milani concealer has replaced my holy grail MAC one – seriously, it’s so good. Also been loving this CoverGirl powder to set and highlight my under eye area.

No shock here that I’ve fallen hard for my new Kristin Ess flat iron. It glides through my hair like no other – no snags or tangles! Hoping to try some Margot Robbie-inspired flat iron waves soon.

My go-to weekend uniform

I am not a leggings girl. At least, not a leggings-in-public girl. Something about it just bugs me. Anyway, I do admit that there are days when I’m working from home that I don’t feel like wearing jeans, but I still want to look put together. Ya know? So, enter leggings. I have nothing to compare, but everyone seems to love these from Amazon, and I agree that they’re great! They stay up, and the waistband doesn’t roll down. Paired with one of the coziest oversized sweatshirts ever, you now know what I’ve been wearing most weekends. You’re welcome.

Also, I finally found the wubby fleece of my dreams. I proclaimed to Ryan the other night that I want to be buried in it. Soooooo, there’s that. 😉

Running playlist

For all my Beatles fans, the Run With The Beatles playlist on Amazon Music is pure gold. I imagine it would be a fun playlist to listen to even if you’re not a runner.

What we watched

I went way outside my comfort zone last month with the shows that we chose to binge – and surprisingly, I loved both! First up, The Mandalorian on Disney+. I came for Baby Yoda and got sucked into the Star Wars-inspired world. LOVED IT. Next was The Witcher on Netflix because hello, Henry Cavill. I fully admit that I didn’t have a damn clue what was happening until the last three episodes or so, and of course we were left with a giant cliff-hanger. Hurry up, season two!

What I’m looking forward to in February: A week in Florida for sunshine, time at the beach and DISNEY for my birthday!

I need to check out that Milani concealer for sure! I’ve been on the hunt for something to replace shape tape lately. Also your thoughts on the Witcher were the exact same as mine haha. I’m debating reading the books just so I’ll have more context before the next season.

I hope that you like the Milani concealer! I’ve never tried Shape Tape, but I like the Milani one since it isn’t overly drying. Haha I’m glad someone else feels the same about The Witcher!

I knew you would love Mandalorian! It appeals to even non-Star Wars folk (us). The fleece wubby…”I proclaimed to Ryan that I want to be buried in it”. CAN’T STOP LAUGHING! Thank god January is over. Bye Felicia!

January was a dreary month, but also a good time to de-clutter after the holidays! Glad you’re enjoying your new makeup palette!
