House projects officially are underway for 2020! Check out this post if you need to catch up on where we’re at with our house. I don’t help Ryan much with painting because he has his method down, and I don’t want to interfere. Since he’s hard at work getting the rest of our upstairs painted, I decided to throw my energy into updating our front living room!
I’ve said it so many times, but our front living room is one of my favorite spaces in the house. It’s the first room that you see when you come in through either the front or garage door, so it kind of sets the tone/mood for the rest of the first level.
Modern farmhouse style is still what I gravitate toward, but I’m also leaning more to transitional style these days. Basically the best of both the traditional and modern worlds. Regardless of the technical style term, neutrals still reign supreme!
My main objective with this room refresh is to add more warmth to the space. There’s a lot of white going on in there, so the addition of wood tones and faux greenery will help add texture and interest, as well as a pop of color! Ryan’s also a fan of pops of gold/brass, and I’m happy to oblige.
We already had most of the big pieces, so I’m simply filling in the gaps – either on a budget (where I can) or rearranging/taking decor from other rooms. It’s amazing what you can accomplish simply by shopping your own home!
I’m probably 80% finished already, so it won’t be long before I’m sharing the final result! I can say that it’s the best feeling when a vision or idea comes to fruition exactly how you pictured it. You know?! So, until the reveal I’ll now leave you in suspense. 😉
