8 Things I Loved in November

Well, we’ve made it folks – it’s finally December! Soon we’ll say goodbye to 2019 and to an entire decade. Hard to believe, right?! I might have to unpack my feelings about that one in a separate post.

I hope that everybody had a great Thanksgiving! We celebrated with my side of the family this year, and for the first time in nearly seven years Ryan didn’t have to work all weekend. We were able to finish the last of our Christmas decorations, including decorating our tree!

8 Things I Loved in November 2019
Last month was relatively quiet, but surprisingly full of new finds, loves and a lot of T.V. watching (#noshame). So let’s get into the 8 things I loved in November!

Hair favorites

Just like with anything, I go through phases with my hair products and tools. I’ll use the same things for years, and then one day decide I’m sick of it all and start using all new things!

+ Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Color Shampoo. My sister recommended this shampoo to me, and I am blown away! My hair is noticeably cleaner, which lends itself to a lot more natural volume without a bunch of products. I’m also able to go longer in between washes.

+ Paul Mitchell Hot Off the Press Thermal Heat Protection Spray. Simply one of the best thermal protection sprays out there. It’s relatively affordable, and a can will last a long time since you don’t need to go overboard. This is what I use on dry hair before styling with a flat iron or curling iron – I still use a blow dry spray when my hair is wet.

+ Kristin Ess 1 1/4″ Barrel Curling Iron. I’ve decided to grow my hair out a bit, so to help fight the awkward stage I find myself reaching for this iron again. I love that the bigger curls fall to a looser wave as the day goes on. Oh, and I had a total fan girl moment when Kristin herself shared a picture of me on her IG Story!

Sweater weather

Every winter season, I have every intention of being better about mixing and matching and layering pieces in my closet to create fun/different outfits. After about a week, I’m back to my usual jeans and a sweater uniform. I can’t help it. Throwing on a cute sweater is just so easy and comfortable! I was heavily influenced with the purchase of the infamous $10 Walmart sweater, and I probably wear it twice a week. Is it the greatest quality? No, but it serves it’s purpose and I love it.

Here’s the infamous sweater in action. Finn isn’t overly impressed.

The best sheets that we’ve ever had

Yep, the hype around the Amazon sheets is REAL. We now own two sets, and I actually look forward to changing the sheets every week. Not sure what makes these so special – is it the microfiber material? – but we never get too warm or too hot.

What we watched …

There seemed to be an overload of streaming shows available last month! Plus throw in Disney+ in there, and we felt like we hardly did anything but watch T.V. in our free time!

+ Jack Ryan Season 2 (Amazon Prime). They dialed up the action on this season from a 7 to a 13, so get ready for quite the ride! John Krasinski is one attractive badass. Who would’ve thought. 😉

+ The Crown Season 3 (Netflix). Some of the best acting that I’ve ever seen on any streaming show ever. Be warned: we felt like the first episode was kind of a dud, but everything quickly picks up from there. This season is much more quietly dramatic, if that makes sense.

+ The Imagineering Story (Disney+). This is an awesome docuseries! I only wish that they released it all at once opposed to individual episodes (there’s four so far). All the behind-the-scenes footage is ridiculously interesting and just plain magical that I don’t think you even need to like Disney to appreciate it.

What I’m looking forward to in December: Celebrating all-things Christmas – time with family, holiday movie marathons, baking, driving around to look at lights, etc. Making time for all the little things is what’s most important to me this year!
