What’s New and Rediscovered in My Makeup Collection

Who doesn’t love to start a week off with a chat about all things makeup?! I, for one, am here for it! Obviously, since this is my blog and I’m the one writing the content. 😉 Like usual this time of year for many of us, I’ve been making the transition in my beauty routine to everything winter. Matte finishes, cool tones – you know the drill. I always do my best to work with what I have, but it’s also fun to pick up a few new products along the way, too. So here’s a peek at what’s new and rediscovered in my makeup collection!

What's New and Rediscovered in My Makeup Collection

+ Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water. I’ve always had mixed feelings about this product. I like the hydration it gives my skin, but it never seemed to mix well with my CC+ cream. Now that I’m using a powder foundation on the regular, this helps keep everything fresh! I’m not sure if it really helps with the staying/lasting power of my foundation, but I’m less-likely to get cake face when I use this beforehand.

+ e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer. Curiosity got the best of me since I’ve heard so many things about this primer. For $6, it’s great! I mainly apply this in my T-zone, and I’ve noticed a significant less amount of oil and product breakup throughout the day.

+ Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation. I already talked about this in my monthly loves for October, but this has been my go-to foundation lately! Love the natural feel of a powder foundation while still being able to achieve the coverage that I desire. It can be kind of tricky to find a shade match, though – I waver between Fair-Light Neutral and Light Beige, the former being the one I reach for most right now.

+ Becca Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder. Ulta included a travel size of this in one of my recent orders, and honestly – the travel size is probably all I’ll need for the foreseeable future! There’s so much product in here, and I only need the tiniest bit. I use this to set my under eye concealer, around my nose and the middle part of my forehead.

+ CoverGirl Cheekers Blush in Brick Rose. Old school drugstore product alert! Emily from Beauty Broadcast had me reaching for this on my last Target trip. This shade in particular is the prettiest neutral, earthy pink tone with the slightest sheen for a healthy cheeky (see what I did there?) glow.

+ LORAC Pro Eye Shadow Palette 2. The winter months make me gravitate more toward a simple, cool-toned eye look. I’m always amazed at how gorgeous this palette is when I haven’t reached for it in some time! Most days, I’m simply using Buff all over my lid and under my brow; Lt. Brown in the crease; Snow for an inner-corner highlight; and Black for liner. Easiest eye shadow look in the book!

+ CoverGirl Clump Crusher Extensions Mascara. The OG Clump Crusher mascara is my holy grail mascara. I have yet to find one that works better (and, I’ve tried SO many). This formula gives a slightly more amped up look.

+ Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder. Another product that made last month’s loves, this powder is just magical. It instantly takes away any shine and oil without ruining makeup that’s already there or worse, taking it away. This has a permanent home in whatever purse I’m carrying!

Do you change up your makeup for the colder months? What are some of your favorite products?

No matter the new products I try, these are the makeup classics that I’ll always come back to!

The cooling effect of that powder weirded me out so much as first, but now I can’t get enough! Such a great setting powder. The elf primer is definitely worth trying for $6!

Even though I don’t wear much makeup, I do switch it up in the wintertime! Cover Girl Cheekers blush has been in my makeup drawer as long as I can remember, I just think they’re the best!
