12 Things I Loved in June

HAPPY JULY 1! How the hell we’re more than halfway done with the year is both beyond me yet not surprising at all. Summer finally decided to show up in the Midwest, so we’ve been getting out every hour of everyday to soak it all up while it lasts. That makes for long days and being way tired come bedtime, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! There’s a lot to share and talk about in today’s post, so let’s jump into the 12 things I loved in June.

12 Things I Loved in June

Beauty, Hair & Skincare

+ Tula Skincare. To put it mildly, my skin has been a mess for a few months now. For both known and unknown reasons. It was obvious to me that my current skincare products weren’t cutting it anymore, so I decided to give this brand a try since it’s so loved by several influencers that I follow. I started with the clear complexion kit, and I’m happy to report that 30 days later I’m ordering full sizes of everything! My skin looks better, but most importantly it feels better! Everything is much more balanced, smooth and clear. I’ve also really been enjoying the brightening eye balm.

+ e.l.f. Fluffy Eye Blender Brush. I am so ridiculously blown away by this eye shadow brush! It’s probably my favorite out of everything in this post. It’s the ideal size for a lot of eye shapes, and it buffs/blends shadows like a dream. The Sigma E40 brush officially has been replaced with this $3 miracle worker!

+ Kristin Ess Weightless Shine Working Serum. Another month, another Kristin Ess product added to my hair arsenal. This product has really helped smooth out my hair before and after blow drying. No more extreme fly-aways or humidity-induced poofy-ness.

Blogger Love

+ What small things spark joy in your life? Totally stealing this blog post idea from Jessica!

+ Lindsey’s makeup tutorials and makeup breakdowns are some of my absolute favorite out there. For a wedding recently, I copied the look that she did on Emily Maynard and it turned out flawlessly (if I do say so myself 😉 ). Having each step/shadow/brush/technique laid out in detail is so helpful.

Entertainment

+ Chernobyl on HBO. This might be the best T.V. mini series I’ve ever watched. I’m sure you’ve heard many people talking about it already, so do yourself a favor and jump on the bandwagon! And, yes – episode four is really difficult for animal lovers/pet owners. Watch with someone who’s willing to let you know when the hard parts are over while you’re on the couch looking away with your ears covered …

+ Taylor Swift’s You Need to Calm Down video. Duh, like I would write a June favorite’s post and not include this. YEAH, RIGHT. So epic in so many ways.

+ Milabu on YouTube. I’ve followed her for years, but for some reason her hair tutorials have been my jam lately! Especially her latest on 10 different ways to style a hair scarf. She’s so enjoyable to watch, and her hair tutorials are actually doable.

Style

+ Good Vibes graphic tee. Amazon for another style win. This tee is so soft and comfortable! I love the colors and graphic for summertime – pretty sure I already can designate this as my new concert-going tee. For reference, I’m wearing a small in the above photo – I’d say it’s TTS or size down one!

+ Universal Thread Utility Pull-On Shorts. I guess I’m cheating because these were included in last month’s favorites, too, but you guys – THEY’RE JUST THAT GOOD. I’ve since purchased the dark gray pair, and I wear them at least twice a week.

+ Old Navy Boyfriend Denim Jacket. A versatile staple that I wear with nearly everything. I love the slight-oversized fit and especially the length! Fits like a regular jacket opposed to cropped. For reference, I wear a small.

+ A New Day High Neck Ribbed Tank. When I saw Lauren style this as part of her shop your closet series, I knew I needed to grab it. For $8, it can’t be beat! The high neck and racerback style is really flattering. I’m hoping to grab a couple more colors. Sizing note: size up! These are pretty fitted – I wear a large.

What I’m looking forward to in July: Knocking off a few things on my summer bucket list, Ryan’s stay-cation, and starting to plan our next getaway/vacation!

Me too! Old Navy quality can be hit or miss, but they usually knock it out of the park with closet staples like that. Hope you had a nice holiday weekend!

I have to agree, Chernobyl was hard to watch, but must see tv – so, so, good. On a lighter note, Taylor Swift has totally knocked it out of the park with her You Have to Calm Down video, might be one of my favorites of all time!

@Disneyland is full of hidden scenes and little details. This area in particular, right around the corner from Fantasyland, was my favorite of them all! Maybe because we were there early before the crowds came pouring in, or maybe I was taking a moment to be nostalgic ... either way this was the first time in a few months that I felt happy and 100% myself. Perhaps that’s the magic of Disney that Walt always talked about. #adultsatdisney #disneyland
