Any other bloggers or creatives out there ever go through their archives to strike up some inspiration? That’s exactly how this post came to be! I’m in the mood to discuss makeup, but exactly what about makeup just wasn’t coming to me. Thankfully, I came across this old post of mine about must-have products from Wet ‘n’ Wild and the light bulb went off!
If you’ve been around a while, then you know what a fan and advocate of drugstore makeup that I am. Honestly, some of the products available these days are WAY better than their higher-end competitors. Especially from the brand that I’m discussing today – Milani Cosmetics! I’ve been a fan of this company’s products for years, but have really expanded my product usage as of late since I’m on a mission to have a 100% cruelty-free makeup collection. If you, too are looking for cruelty-free products that won’t break the bank and are top-tier quality then this post is for you! These are my 5 must-have makeup products from Milani Cosmetics.
+ Eyeshadow Primer. This eye primer is what started my entire love affair with the brand. I used to spend three times as much on a shadow primer that performed basically the same as this one! The nude tint works on all skin tones and is a favorite characteristic for me personally since it helps cover up veins. A little goes a long way, and I’ve never had issues with shadow creasing. Seriously, it’s magic in a tube.
+ Baked Powder Blush. I think this blush already has a bit of a cult following, so any roundup like this wouldn’t be complete without including it! Especially perfect for summertime, it gives the healthiest glow and wash of color. My favorite shades are Dolce Pink (a close alternative to MAC’s Gentle) and Luminoso.
+ Silky Matte Bronzing Powder. Is there a bronzer formula that’s as smooth as this one?! I think not. Yes, it even beats Butter Bronzer by Physician’s Formula! Blends like a dream and can be used as both an allover bronzer or for contour. This is such a drugstore gem since quality matte bronzers can be hard to come by! For reference, I have shade 02 Sun Kissed.
+ Strobelight Instant Glow Powder. Highlighters can be tricky for me because I prefer subtlety. Even though this formula is super pigmented, a large fluffy brush provides a more natural look. Shade selection also is important! I have 02 Dayglow, and it is stunning. It’s on the champagne/bronze-ier side of things opposed to a lot of highlighters that can have a frosty or pearl-like finish.
+ Color Statement Lipstick. In a world of liquid lipsticks, I’m still an old-school/traditional lipstick kind of girl. And, Milani lipsticks are bar-none some of the best at the drugstore! There’s a wide color selection and a few varieties of finishes to suit everyone. My favorite at the moment is 61 Matte Naked, which is a dupe for MAC Viva Glam II.
