Amazon Style Shopping Haul & Try-On

At the beginning of the month, I shared what was currently on my Amazon wish list. There’s some cuuuuute stuff to be found right now. Now that I’ve ordered and received a few items from that post as well as a couple others I came across, I thought that it would be fun to do an Amazon style shopping haul and try-on! Everything is less than $30 and has Prime and/or free shipping. Let’s get into it!

*kicking it old-school with iPhone mirror selfies for this post. No makeup, and I didn’t even do my hair! I know the quality is sub par, but that’s the fun of it. 🙂

Short Sleeve V-Neck Button-Up Tunic
Wearing size Small in Army Green – $15.99
Verdict: Kept it!

Thanks, again to Lindsay for discovering these tops! I. Am. Obsessed. Can’t believe the quality for the price. If you’re wondering about sizing, I’d say go down one from your normal size. I’m usually between a small and medium in tops/tees, and there’s more than enough room for me in this small. Leggings aren’t my thing, so I’ll be wearing this tucked into jeans and layered with a cardigan come fall. Pretty sure a couple of the long-sleeve styles will make their way to me in the near future, too. 😉

12″ Mini Backpack
Wearing in Dark Grey – $23.99
Verdict: Kept it!

Love this backpack so much that I sold my Herschel Supply Co. one. It’s that good! The organizational freak-side of me loves all the interior pockets. I also think the shape is great since it appears that it’ll easily stand up on its own when full. The straps are a little confusing at first – you have to unbutton them to adjust the length, but that’s a minor detail that doesn’t bug me. I also plan to use a seam ripper to take off the patch on the front pocket. Great size for an everyday/travel backpack.

Short Sleeve V-Neck Button Midi Dress with Pockets
Wearing size Medium in Black – $19.99
Verdict: Returned it.

I had high hopes for this dress, but as I expected it was too good to be true. The material was a little thin and cheap, and I wanted the skirt to be more twirl-worthy. For a medium, the shoulders/sleeves fit tight, and the waistband kept riding up to an unnatural and unflattering part of my waist. On the upside, the buttons aren’t functional so you don’t have to worry about weird gaps.

5″ Drawstring Linen Shorts
Wearing size Medium in Olive – $20
Verdict: Returned it.

I seriously LOVED these shorts. Now I understand the hype with this style. The quality and fit was great – I might’ve even been able to go down to a small. Unfortunately, I was stumped with what other tops I would wear with these besides a white tee and the inseam length was maybe an inch longer than I prefer. However, if you have any styling tips for this style of shorts, I’m all ears. I’d order these again in a different color in a heartbeat.

Tortoise Shell Drop Earrings
Wearing in Light Yellow – $9.99
Verdict: Returned it.

Great quality statement earrings. They’re so lightweight that I didn’t even feel like I had any earrings on. But, I need to stop trying to make myself a statement jewelry person – I’m just not. If this type of jewelry is your thing though, then order these ASAP. There’s a few different colors, and they’ll be perfect with all the upcoming fall sweaters.

What do you think of this Amazon style shopping haul and try-on? Old-school posts like these – iPhone mirror selfies and all – are some of my favorites to read because they’re real and no-fuss. It’s the best way to show the fit/style/quality of an item without worrying about posing and filters and what not. That’s my opinion anyway – hopefully you enjoyed it as much as I did putting it together!

oh such a bummer about the dress… i would check it out based on the style (not to twirl worthy is good for work) but ugh not if the material is cheap. blah. those shorts are super cute, i worry abotu wrinkles with shorts like that though. i only wear black or white with olive haha. i’m not good with matching stuff. love the little backpack too!
i love posts like this, like you said they are real and no fuss.

The dress might still be worth checking out, especially for work purposes! With a cardigan over it you probably wouldn’t forget about the quality (it’s not crap – just wasn’t worth keeping it to me). So excited about that backpack, it’s everything I was hoping it would be.

Love this with the mirror selfies- I wish more bloggers would post those over the overly staged city backgrounds lol. I like the top and those earrings are very cute!

Love this post! So glad you love those henley tops too! I need to order a few more colors! And I’m sad you returned those earrings! They are so cute! I will be ordering them!!

Those earrings are so cute – I’m having return remorse, so they might still find their way back to me. 🙂 I think the long sleeve henley tops will be perfect for layering with vests for fall.

The dress was so cute! The quality isn’t crap, but the material was a little meh and the fit was off so I couldn’t justify keeping it. Thanks for stopping by!

Those shorts are super cute, but I totally understand about not knowing what to style them with. Did they come in different colors?

    • 1.28.19

Yes, they do come in other colors! I’m considering getting black or a khaki/neutral color to maybe have more options. We’ll see!

This was a great post! And I bet you could wear a lot with those olive shorts – gray, blue, black, chambray. I’d say keep them!

Thanks so much! And, thanks for the styling tip – I may just get those shorts in another color to have more options.

I’m bummed you didn’t keep the earrings but I totally understand. I recently got rid of EVERY pair of earrings that was too heavy, too much of a statement or just plain cheap!

Those earrings were so cute, and I’m having slight return remorse so they may still find their way back to me. They’d be cute with fall sweaters, right? Might have to break out of my delicate/dainty jewelry rut for those.
