Put on your fancy hat, and cue the wedding bells. Prince Harry’s and Meghan Markle’s big day almost is upon us! The royal wedding has been penciled in on our personal kitchen calendar for months now. A little overexcited am I? You bet. Do I care? Not in the slightest!
In an ideal situation, my girlfriends and/or family live closer and I would host one big British-inspired pajama tea party. Instead, I’ll be up solo at 4 a.m. to take in all the pre-wedding coverage, and Ryan will join me a couple hours later for the main event. That’s the plan at least. I’m not entirely convinced that my hubby will pull himself out of bed, so I’m doing what any wife would do – bribing him with food! Usually works like a charm. So, I put together a quick and easy royal wedding viewing breakfast menu for two.
Peanut butter and jelly muffins. This is a personal favorite of Prince Harry’s, so it seems only fitting that we should indulge in his favorite breakfast while he takes his marriage vows. The recipe comes straight from their former chef, so I’m confident that it’ll be a crowd (or duo) pleaser.
Champagne oranges. Luck so have it, I caught this recipe while watching The Pioneer Woman at the gym and knew it would be perfect for our royal breakfast. Ree Drummond never lets me down! You can even swap out the alcohol for sparkling fruit juice.
Lemon Elderflower cake. I know that it will be early, but a wedding is a wedding so cake is a must! This recipe is an easy DIY version of the bride and groom’s actual wedding cake. Kind of perfect, right? And, right on theme!
There you go, a no-fuss easy royal wedding viewing breakfast menu for two. And, don’t forget the mimosas! 😉
