Coffee Chat No. 10 | Ramblings, Recent Purchases & Holiday Weekend Plans

Hey, hey! Been a quick-minute. There’s not enough hours in the day lately to get everything accomplished. It has been a while since I randomly wrote and shared whatever, so that’s what we’re getting up to today. Settle in for coffee chat no. 10!

Coffee Chat No. 9
What did everybody think of the royal wedding? I’m admittedly still re-watching highlights … #truelife. All of it was just so lovely and glamorous! I do think Meghan’s ceremony gown had a few minor fit issues, and girlfriend needed a little more work done on her hair/makeup, but that veil made up for all of it. IT WAS STUNNING. Beyond that, my favorite part was everyone’s reactions during the sermon. England doesn’t know what hit it!

I haven’t posted to my Instagram feed in nearly three weeks, and it truly feels liberating. It’s way easier to post spur-of-the-moment things to stories and not care about editing, timing, etc. The whole social media thing is a competitive rat race now (it seems), and I’m just not here for it.

The LC Lauren Conrad clothing line at Kohl’s can be really be hit/miss – both in quality and style – but I’ve been digging the new spring arrivals! Hello, circle straw tote for only $30! I’m sad I had to return this jumpsuit – it fit so well and was really flattering, but it’s straight-up see-through. Even with the right undergarments I just couldn’t make it work. Womp womp. These blue and white striped beach pants also are really cute and good quality – perfect for over a bathing suit or with a white tee.

Everyone needs this drugstore eye shadow palette. It rivals ones that cost twice as much. SO GOOD. One of these days, I may get around to posting makeup tutorials on Instagram stories … we’ll see.

Wisconsin’s first IKEA opened last week, and it’s only an hour away from where we live. YIPPEE! You all know that IKEA is my jam and happy place (besides Disney World) so I’m a happy girl about this development. Our bank account, not so much. 😉 We’re headed there tomorrow! Any new items I should check out?

What are your plans for the upcoming holiday weekend? I’m running my first 5k of the season Saturday morning, and we’re hoping to do a couple fun things (read: mini golf) when Ryan gets home from work at night. I cannot believe that the unofficial kickoff to summer finally is here … time seriously needs to slow down.

Before I head out, just a couple housekeeping things. Are you seeing and/or receiving my posts? Bloglovin’ has been really intermittent with sharing my new posts to feeds, so make sure you’re on my email list (signup in sidebar!) and follow me on Feedly if you want to see new content. I thought I had everything transferred and working smoothly when I re-branded, but who knows. It’s to the point that I’m not sure what else I can do, so let the good times roll. Recent posts that you may have missed:

P.S. If you’re an expert on this whole GDPR thing, hit me up. I updated whatever Google told me to, and I’m pretty sure I followed the instructions correctly to update any necessary MailChimp forms. But, if I screwed up and my site gets shut down, it was nice knowing all of you.

Thanks for stopping by for today’s coffee chat! I’ll be back Monday to round up some of my favorites from the holiday sales.

Enjoy the rest of the week, and have a great weekend!

I was so happy for the royal wedding because I felt like it was as human and love-focused as a royal wedding could get! I LOVE that her dress is never going to be out of date. I personally cringe when I look at Diana’s!

I need to start checking out LC collection more often. I used to love it. I have a top in my closet from her line from YEARS ago that I still wear.

You definitely should! I sometimes get crap that I still shop at Kohl’s, but you can find some great deals and styles for super affordable. The LC line can be very hit/miss quality-wise, so I always recommend checking the stuff out in store if you can vs. ordering online!

I’m still thinking about the Royal Wedding, it had all the feels! Was nice to have a few hours of pure happiness. Have fun at IKEA tomorrow and good luck on your 5k – proud of you! We’re finally getting some decent weather, so Memorial Day will find me in the garden!

I wasn’t impressed with her gown but i think everything else was beautiful. I do want her veil though lol

Brian isn’t happy about IKEA being in WI lol

    • 1.28.19

I’m with you! The veil made the whole look. Ryan knows better than to get between me and IKEA so he just rolls with it, lol.

Hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend! I can’t believe it’s already here!
