5 Things I Loved in April

Yeah, yeah – we all know it’s May thanks to Justin Timberlake and one of the most annoying memes ever created. (#truth) But, with a new month brings a new set of monthly favorites! Let’s jump into the 5 things I loved in April.

Kenny Chesney concert

I’ve shared this numerous times over the years, but Ryan and I love going to concerts. We aren’t very spendy on other forms of entertainment or vacations, so concerts are one of the few things that we indulge in. Kenny Chesney has been on our bucket list for a while, so we jumped at the opportunity when he, Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion were in Milwaukee this last weekend! We’d never been to an all-day concert event like this – needless to say, we’d never survive at an actual music festival – but it was a lot of fun! I’m a huge Old Dominion fan, and Thomas Rhett really surprised me as a great performer. Obviously, it goes without saying that Kenny knows how to put on a show – I understand now why everyone says his concerts are one big party!

Wild, Wild Country on Netflix

If you’re fascinated or interested in cults, this is THE documentary for you. There’s really no good way to even explain this six-part series. We finished it a couple weeks ago, and it still comes up in daily conversation because we can’t wrap our heads around some of what happened! Watch it, let me know what you think, and join me in using #Sheela whenever possible.

R.S. Grey books

I just discovered the author R.S. Grey (thanks to all the members of the Show Us Your Books linkup!), and I’m hooked! They are the epitome of chick lit – fun, cute with the right/appropriate amount of sexy (without being raunchy) and just downright happy. Some (if not all) of her books are on Kindle Unlimited. Start with The Duet! My monthly book roundup will be live next Tuesday, so stay tuned for more.

Magnolia Table by Joanna Gaines

Well, this might be the prettiest cookbook that I’ve ever owned! Guess that should come as no shock, right? I was taken aback by how long it is, though – nearly 500 pages! It’s going to take me a while to sort through all the recipes I’d like to try, but first on the list are JoJo’s biscuits … yes, please! And, if you follow me on Instagram then you know that Joanna Gaines liked the photo that I shared so it’s now forever my favorite thing. 😉

Amazon Fire Stick

As mentioned in my last Amazon haul post, Ryan surprised me with a Fire Stick for our bedroom TV. It has been such a convenient addition! We don’t make habit of watching TV upstairs or before bed, but I admit it has been nice to head up a little early to get ready for bed but still watch a show if neither of us are tired. I’m also guilty of working from our bedroom at times, and I like to have the TV as background noise.

What were some things or experiences that you loved last month?

See what I loved in March.

  1. I love our Firestick a little too much. I’ve started downloading the channels we have on cable so I don’t have to switch back if I want to watch a different show.

Glad you guys enjoyed seeing Kenny Chesney and were able to cross it off your bucket list! Guess I’ll have to convince the keeper of the remote in my house to watch Wild Wild West, sounds like a good one!

    • You so should! The recipes don’t even look that hard/involved, so that’s a plus. Let me know if you watch WWC – it is the craziest documentary.

  11. yay for RS Grey!! so happy you are liking them. i don’t think i could ever survive at a legit music festival, though i went to the CMA fest 8 years ago (we went back for a nap before the night shows lol). i don’t think i could hang for an all day concert like that but it sounds fun! i loved Kenny and would see him again if/when he comes back to our city. he was such fun to watch!
