Packing is top-of-mind this week because we leave for Florida on Sunday! Yay! … But, want to know a secret? I HATE to pack. It’s literally one of my least-favorite tasks right behind laundry. That’s why I have to start doing it about a week before we leave because I find every excuse and way to procrastinate. 😉 Luckily, when it comes to packing my beauty arsenal and toiletries I’ve been able to narrow down the makeup and beauty items I never travel without to make the packing process a little easier on my soul.

Confession (okay, its probably obvious if you know me at all) … I pack WAY more than what is included in this post. I’m a girl, I’m a beauty freak, and I like options. What can I say?! But, these are the products that I probably would cry my eyes out over if I forgot them. Granted, I’m sure I could buy them wherever we are, but I’d rather not test that theory.
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer has been my ride-or-die for as long as I can remember. I still even haven’t tried everyone’s favorite Tarte Shape Tape because I’m convinced nothing will change my mind about MAC! Particularly when I travel, this concealer goes a long way – I use it as usual for underneath my eyes, but I’ll also use it to spot conceal any blemishes/redness and as an eye shadow primer. Paired with my favorite MAC pressed powder, I usually can forego a full face of foundation.
Another major multitasker? The NYX Highlight and Contour palette. This has everything and then some I could want/need for setting powder/bronzing/contouring/highlighting purposes. I know a palette can be kind of a pain to travel with, but I’d much rather have everything in one opposed to packing 6 different separate products in my bag. Same thing that I do with the Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Contour palette! Any eye look you can think of can be done with only these shadows, so it’s all I need when away from home … okay really, it’s probably the only palette I need at home, too, but I have an addiction to shadow palettes. #cantstopwontstop
I also would never dream of leaving without my beloved Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed and Maybelline lipstick in Warm Me Up. Both the blush and lipstick shades are universally flattering and can be paired with literally anything.
Hair and Other Honorable Mentions
I’m guilty as-charged for being a longtime user of hotel in-room hairdryers. Until I read an article somewhere along the way about how unsanitary those things are and all the germs they collect. Yep, bye! Now I always make sure to borrow my mom’s travel hairdryer, which is lightweight and compact so it doesn’t take up any space/weight in my suitcase. Since I typically can’t be bothered to do much with my hair on vacation, a large round brush is the only other hair tool I bring along. Oh, and dry shampoo. Duh.
A few other things worth mentioning are my nail polish color of choice, top coat and polish remover wipes. I’m notorious for doing my nails and having them chip a day or two later, so I always make sure to have my current polish color on-hand for fixes and touch ups. Makeup remover wipes are another obvious must-have, and e.l.f. blotting papers always are in my travel bag! I love that there’s a sticky poof that the blotting sheet adheres to.
Most of the makeup and beauty items I never travel without are products that I’ve talked about many times before on here. And, that’s why I really can’t go anywhere without them! I’m able to use most of these products as dual-purpose while away from home, which helps make packing easier and lighter!
What are some makeup or beauty items that you have to have with you while on vacation?
Don’t forget about my favorite travel makeup bag!
