Happy Valentine’s Day, my sweet readers! I hope that you’re surrounded by all the love today, no matter the form that it comes in. These holiday-themed Q&A’s are some of my favorite to read and write, so here’s my Valentine’s Day questionnaire to celebrate the day!
Kisses or hugs? I should’ve been a Tanner (bonus points to you if you get that reference) because I’m 100% a hugger. Obviously, I don’t bestow kisses on those that aren’t Ryan or my family, so hugging is my way of feeling close and connected to all.
Candy or flowers? Hmm … can I say both? Ryan actually is a superstar husband at bringing home flowers on the regular, so I guess I’ll go with candy. We hardly ever have it in the house, so it’s a real treat when we do.
Baking or cooking? Both! Today in fact, Ryan is making/cooking his homemade pizza, and I’m baking a deep dish cookie cake.
Do you remember your first kiss? I’ll hand this one over to Ed Sheeran – “had my first kiss on a Friday night, I don’t reckon that I did it right.” 😉
Favorite color of roses? White roses always have been my favorite, but I’ll take whatever is given to me!
Conversation hearts, yay or nay? A big ‘ol NAY. They taste like chalk. Yuck. They do make for cute decor and photo props, though. #bloggertalk
Do you leave love notes? I’m all about the love notes! Admittedly, I’m way better about this than Ryan is (he’d be the first to agree). The written word is so important to me – I think it’s kind of a hopeless romantic thing. I keep all the cards that Ryan gives to me!
Do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? The couple touches you see on our faux fireplace in the above picture is it! There’s also a cute towel in our half bathroom. My mom always had holiday decor around the house to make things special for us growing up, so my hope is that I’ll try harder when we start a family.
Red or pink? I love pops of pink/blush in home decor, but I’ll take any excuse to rock a red lip makeup look!
Milk, white or dark chocolate? Dark chocolate. Yes, please.
Do you believe in love at first sight? Maybe not love, but definitely like/lust (whatever you want to categorize it as). Call me a little hippy dippy, but I’m a big believer that people find or notice each other when the time is right or one is needed in the other’s life. I do think that a greater force can initially bring people together, even if it seems like there’s no rhyme or reason why, as that first step toward love. There’s more of that hopeless romantic coming out!
Do you give humorous or serious valentine cards? It depends on what kind of mood I’m in! I’ve done both, but I do lean more toward serious/lovey-dovey cards.
Favorite chick flick or romantic movie? Well, this post would turn into a novel if I listed every single movie that I adore in these categories. Since we’re on the topic of Valentine’s Day, I’ll simply go with How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days – it’s mine and Ryan’s “movie” because it’s the first one that we ever watched together!
Stay in or go out? Stay in, all the way. We’re homebodies, so there’s no place I’d rather celebrate our love than in our home, on our couch, in our pajamas. That’s the reality of a 10-year relationship!
