New and Rediscovered Beauty Favorites for Fall

I enjoy switching up my makeup products each season, but fall is arguably my favorite time to do so. Give me all the full coverage foundations, coppery eye shadows and moody lip colors! I’ve been getting quite a few questions about my makeup over on Instagram Stories, so I thought today would the perfect time to share a few new and rediscovered beauty favorites for fall.

The biggest change to my makeup routine has been foundation! I’ll never stop loving liquid foundation, but it hasn’t been doing much for me these days. Everything has been breaking my skin out and basically making me look like a hot mess by the end of the day.

So, I randomly pulled out my jar of Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation one day, and HOLY MOLY. Remind me again why I ever stopped using this stuff? I’m not typically a fan of powder foundations, but I think this product might have converted me for good. It provides medium-to-full-coverage, but still feels like nothing on the skin. I actually think this foundation has helped clear up my skin! And, contrary to common belief you can put liquid concealer on top of a powder foundation. I’ve had zero issue with caking/creasing/blending when I do this.

The best part, though? IT LASTS ALL FREAKIN’ DAY. No touch ups and maybe one blotting sheet midday. Oh, and don’t bother buying the brush that’s supposed to be used with this foundation. I use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, and it works like a dream. Apparently this brush isn’t available anymore, or I just couldn’t find it online. Regardless, a fluffy buffing brush that still has some density to it will work fine with this foundation.

For reference, I wear the shade Light Neutral.

My go-to blush these days is Ulta Velvet Blush in the color Princess. It looks shimmery, but I promise that it’s not. It’s that ideal neutral tone that’s slightly deeper and warmer for fall. You don’t need much either – it’s surprisingly super pigmented! Just a couple taps of a blush brush in the powder will do the trick.

And, finally the product that I’ve had the most questions about – my lip color! I picked up the e.l.f. Aqua Beauty Radiant Gel Lip Stain in Dewy Berry on a whim. Now, it’s practically the only thing that I wear on my lips! The beauty of a lip stain is that there’s no sticky or goopy feeling left on your lips. It does exactly as it says – stains your lip with a wash of color. I typically do two coats and then slightly rub the product in with my ring finger for a more natural, lived-in look. If I want to punch up the color, I layer a coat of NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait. I believe the lip stain comes in two other colors, one being a red that I’m anxious to pick up on my next Target trip.

    • It’s worth a shot! It does take a few minutes extra to apply than liquid foundation, but I’m fine with that since I don’t really have to touch it up during the day then.
