Fall Goals and To-Do List

It’s a bit hard to get into the sweater weather mindset when it’s still 90 degrees outside … But, here I am to talk all about my fall goals and to-do list! Fall is undoubtedly my favorite season of the year, but it’s also one of the busiest. If I don’t write down a few things that I want to accomplish – both out of necessity and for fun – I know that I won’t enjoy everything that this season has to offer!

Fall Goals and To-Do List
Go to a corn maze. I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do a corn maze, so I’m on a mission to make it happen within the next month. There’s actually an incredible maze only a half hour away from us – seriously, go look at it. This year’s theme is Elvis! They even offer nighttime experiences that involve glow sticks, so that sounds even more fun.

Finish painting the upstairs hallway. Painting our stairwell and upstairs hallway has commenced! Ryan has one more coat of wall paint to go (check out this post for all our home paint colors), and then it will be time to paint the doors and install new trim/baseboards/crown molding. One step closer to never seeing that ugly 90’s oak wood EVER AGAIN. Cue the cheers.

Hit up a local farm for all the fall treats. Okay, admittedly Ryan and I already did this a couple weeks ago. But, since it was so early I didn’t come home with too much. I’d like to go back and bring home fresh apple cider, any and all baked goods, apples and so on. If you’re local to the area, head over to The Little Farmer in Malone, Wis. That’s where the above picture was taken. It’s the sweetest place and perfect for fall family/pumpkin patch photos!

Figure out what I want to do with the blog. I mentioned this briefly in last week’s coffee with Karly. I’m contemplating taking this space to somewhere new, so I need to make a few concrete decisions and then not second-guess those decisions. The possibility of change is equal parts exciting and terrifying, but I’m also realistic in knowing that I’m not the biggest blog so a major overhaul really won’t screw much up.

Keep up with running and regular workouts. I’m most likely finished with 5k races for the year, but I need to keep myself motivated to continue training. I don’t think this will be much of an issue since it has become a big part of my daily routine. Seriously, running does wonders for my mental health. I’ve also lost around five pounds, so I’ll keep that in the back of my head as I try not to stuff my face with all the seasonal goodies!

Get ready for another year of Thanksgiving hosting duties. I’m so excited to be hosting Thanksgiving at our home again this year. This time, with my side of the family! I have big shoes to fill since my mom basically is Martha Stewart when it comes to this holiday, but at least I’ll have her on-hand to help. 😉

Pick out and order Christmas cards. I know, it seems a little early to be putting this on a to-do list. However, with hosting Thanksgiving again, it would be nice to have this finished and ready to go so it’s one less thing to worry about around that time. Plus, we already have new family photos to choose from so that’s one less step this year!

Figure out a photo book system. The good intentions always are there to create and print photo books, but that task always seems to fall to the wayside. I want our photos off the computer, though! Do you have any tips for how to get this done? Since a majority of our pictures are from my iPhone, I’m thinking Chatbooks might be a good option.

Okay, eight fall goals and to-do list … that’s doable, right?! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a fun and productive fall season!
