Modern Farmhouse Master Bedroom Reveal

At last! It’s here! Our modern farmhouse master bedroom reveal.

Modern Farmhouse Master Bedroom Reveal

Per the usual, this project took a little longer than anticipated. Not for any particular reason, but life happens – ya know? You can see the original design inspiration in this post. Anyways, we wrapped things up about a month ago and while I still have some decorating to do, I couldn’t wait any longer to get it up here!

You know the drill by now – let’s first take a look at where we started. It cracks me up that for a split second I didn’t want our bed in between the two windows. Duh, Karly – this room was built to be set up that way! But, you never know until you try. By the way, these pictures are from when we first moved in. We did paint the walls and move the furniture again, but I can’t seem to find pictures of that. Oops!

And, let me just say a final ode to our black furniture. Here’s the thing – it was beautiful, quality-made furniture. If Ryan would’ve agreed to the same set in white back when we bought it, we’d still have it. Ryan finally sees things my way. 😉 I’m glad that we were able to sell the furniture on Craigslist for a good price. Actually, that money offset almost everything new that we bought so this was a pretty budget-friendly project. #winning

Enough of my blabbing. Here’s our new modern farmhouse master bedroom!

I pretty much always say this, but it’s amazing what a coat of paint and lots of white touches can do for a room. This room doesn’t get the best natural light, but the whole space feels brighter now with the light color scheme. I also made sure to add in natural wood tones with accessories for texture and some added warmth. Ladies, this is a good way to convince your man that an all-white room won’t be too girly!

My favorite new addition to the room is the wicker sitting chair that we picked up from IKEA. I knew that I wanted a little corner on “my” side of the room to be able to finish getting ready or whatever. I now sit in this corner all the time! It’s right next to the window, so it’s a peaceful spot to enjoy a cup of coffee or do a little reading. I still need to add decor on the wall there, but I don’t mind the empty space either.

Oh, and our new alternative down comforter? That might as well be renamed as Finley’s dog bed. He is OBSESSED with that comforter, no joke. At night, he burrows himself into the folds to create a little blanket and pillow situation for himself. It’s pretty much the cutest thing ever. Maybe that’s why I can’t bring myself to tell him to move so we actually can use the comforter.
