Does anybody else feel like winter wreaked complete havoc on their skin? Trust me, you’re not alone! With the spring season in full swing, I’m sure we’re all ready to get our skin to look and feel healthy. We want to wear shorts and dresses with confidence, right?! So today I’m sharing my best 3 tips to get your skin spring-ready.
Get hydrated.
During the colder months, I fall victim to not drinking as much as I should. We’re typically not as active, and the cold doesn’t exactly make me want to down 10 glasses of water a day. But, hydration is key for healthy, glowing skin. If you struggle to stay hydrated, try to keep a water bottle with you during the day so it’s easy to know when it’s time for a refill. I always keep my Camelback with me, and I try to drink three or four full bottles a day. Also, if you like flavored water then try Dasani drops – I swear by them!
Exfoliate.
If you have skin like mine, then I’m sure it has been ridiculously dry and flaky. A gentle exfoliate scrub will help buff away dead skin cells to let fresh, healthy skin shine through. Just be careful not to use anything too harsh so you don’t further damage your skin. You also only need to exfoliate once or twice a week so your skin doesn’t dry out even more.
Build a base tan without the sun!
It’s difficult to feel confident in spring clothes when you feel like you resemble Casper the Friendly Ghost. I’ve been a loyal JERGENS® fan for years (check out my sunless tanning tutorial in this post), and they’ve now made it even easier to build a base tan with JERGENS® Natural Glow® Wet Skin Moisturizer.
I’m all about multitasking products, and JERGENS® Natural Glow® Wet Skin Moisturizer has become a workhorse in my bathroom. I use this in place of a regular moisturizer and also build natural color on my skin throughout the course of several days. That’s a win-win in my book!
I apply it straight out of the shower while my skin is still wet, which helps to get an even, streak-free application. All you need is a quarter-size amount for each leg, and a little less than that for each arm. Then, I simply towel off as normal. There’s no product or color transfer since it absorbs into the skin so quick. Just be sure to wash your hands after application.
I admit that I can be a bit impatient while I wait to build up a natural tan. That’s why I typically follow up with an application of JERGENS® Natural Glow® Instant Sun® Sunless Tanning Mousse. This product delivers instant results, so it’s great for the day of a special event or if you want color fast. I always use a sunless tanning mitt to ensure even color and to protect my hands.
This is the easiest way to get a glowing, healthy tan and boost your confidence to wear all those warm weather clothes!
All JERGENS® products can be found at Walmart. It’s important to note that JERGENS® Natural Glow® Wet Skin Moisturizer is located in a different area than other JERGENS® products. You also can follow along with JERGENS® on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
There you have it – my 3 tips to get your skin spring-ready. I hope that these tips will help how you and your skin look and feel this spring!
i am the worst at exfoliating! thanks for the reminder. you look fantastic as always 🙂
Awe, thanks girl! And, I always try to remind myself to do it on Sundays. That way, I’m set for the week! 🙂
Such great tips! I’ve even been taking the wet skin moisturizer with me while traveling, I’m loving it so much!
Isn’t it so good?! I’m thinking about trying the darker color to see if I get even faster results.
Love using Jergens too! And you have such great skin!!

Oh gosh, that’s so sweet! I’ve been working hard on taking care of my skin. 🙂
I love Jergins natural glow lotion and use it almost everyday, so I need to try out these products too! And I’m gonna need ot know where your dress is from! Looks like a dress I would wear constantly in the summer!
It’s from the LC Lauren Conrad collection at Kohls, I just love it and will be living in it, too!
I really need to get better about moisturizing especially in the winter. Jergens has such great self tanners, and I love that there’s a mousse <3

The mousse is so nice to get instant results!
I have used the Jergens natural glow in the past, but wasn’t crazy about the smell. How does the wet skin moisturizer smell? There’s really no color transfer on your towel when you dry off?!?!?
It doesn’t smell bad at all, definitely not like their products used to! It reminds me of Palmer’s cocoa butter or a shea butter smell. And nope, no color transfer at all!
I’ve heard so many great things about Jergens self tanners, but I still haven’t given them a try! I swear that I’m so pale that they’d be perfect for me, especially since I don’t like to be out in the sun too much!
Definitely start with the wet moisturizer, it will give you just the barely there look of a tan!
I love Jergens! I use the lotion all the time. Need to try that foam.

Yeah! The mousse is great for quick results.
I love Jergen’s products! Winter months, even though it doesn’t get nearly as cold here as it does for you, totally change up the dynamic in my skin. Everything is just so dang dry!
I’m with you, my skin really took a beating this past winter.
I’ve been too lazy to self tan this year, so I’m so glad it’s finally warming up! I’ve always been intrigued by the wet lotions, since I hate using normal lotion– this one sounds like a great option!
It’s so good, definitely the best one that I’ve used. I like that I can just slap it on after the show and not have to worry about it.
Great tips today and I will definitely be trying these products!
I think you’ll like them!
Omg I must try the wet skin version! I always hate waiting for the normal lotion to dry!
Yes! I’m seriously hooked. I love that I can moisturize and self-tan within a minute.
Ohhh these sound fantastic! I’m all about a good self tanner product!
They are so, so good. I can’t get enough!
The instastun is my favorite drugstore self tanner out there! So easy to use and a great tan from it!! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
I couldn’t agree with you more!
You have a gorgeous glow girl!
Awe, thank you!
