Our third full day in Florida was spent with a day at Hollywood Studios and a night at The Boardwalk. I was looking forward to this day all week! Hollywood Studios is one of my very favorite Disney parks, and I hadn’t visited The Boardwalk since I was seven years old.
This day in particular was supposed to be the hottest day of our trip, in the mid-90s! So, we aimed to get an earlier start before it got too warm. The park was ridiculously crowded, which was something I wasn’t expecting. Hollywood Studios always seems to be a bit quieter, but not this day. I also was a little disappointed to see how much the park had changed in a year. I know it’s starting to undergo some major changes, but did they have to set up a massive Star Wars stage in front of the Graumann’s Chinese Theater replica? Or take down the Streets of USA? It kind of made me upset at first, but then I was extra glad that we got to see everything one last time during our visit last year. Time’s are changing, I guess!
Anyways, we started the day with The Great Movie Ride. In case you don’t remember, that is my favorite Disney ride of. all. time. I know, I know. It’s old, and it’s hokey. But, there’s just something so nostalgic and fun about it!
But, the real memorable thing this trip happened when we got off the ride. Let me preface this by saying that I’ve never seen one Star Wars movie. It just doesn’t interest me, and I think a lot of the characters are creepy. Including those damn Storm Troopers. So, much to my dismay, two of them were patrolling the outside of the theater. One locked eyes with me, it freaked me out, and I bolted. I’m talking a dead sprint as far away from there as I could get. Never did I think that they would follow me … oh, but they did. So, that led to a few embarrassing minutes! And, instead of trying to help me, Ryan just stood by taking photos and laughing with the rest of the crowd that had gathered. One of the lower points of my life, that’s for sure. π
Once I recovered from the storm trooper trauma, we headed over to Tower of Terror. This ride is not our cup of tea, but we figured we had to do it since it soon will be *gone. A farewell ride of sorts. I think my face in the picture pretty much sums up how I felt about that decision. *My bad – a few of you let me know that Tower of Terror only is gone at Disneyland. Go figure – we probably wouldn’t have gone on this then. Ha!
From there, we took things at a more leisurely pace. We headed over to the Pixar area, had a quick meet-and-greet with Olaf, and even stumbled upon one of the yellow dresses that Emma Watson wears in Beauty and the Beast! Having just saw the movie last weekend (I’m OBSESSED), the dress is that much prettier in person. It’s basically a dream dress. I thought it was so neat that they had this on display!
After we finally got onto Rock ‘n’ Roller coaster, we wrapped up at the park after being there for about half a day and headed back to the hotel to freshen up for dinner at The Boardwalk. Like I mentioned before, I hadn’t been to The Boardwalk since my first visit to Disney when I was seven. I remember it being so cute, and it’s still exactly the same! I couldn’t believe that hardly anything had changed. It was fun to just walk around to take it all in, and there even were a few street performers out for entertainment.
Trattoria Al Forno was where we decided on for dinner, and it was delicious. A decent meal, let alone Italian food, was a welcome change from park food! It was a nice, relaxing atmosphere and the service couldn’t have been better. We highly recommend this restaurant for your next trip!
And, that concludes the recap of a day at Hollywood Studios and a night at The Boardwalk! Our last day of vacation at Magic Kingdom is coming at you next week.
My husbands going to forbid me from reading these Disney recap posts from you, they make me want to go so badly! Literally laughed out loud at the storm troopers:). It looks like y’all had such a good time!
I’m laughing about your husband – no way, keep showing them to him! π
I always loved Hollywood Studios too. Sad they have changed it so much. I love your braid! Perfect for a warm day at the park.

Thank you, it’s my go-to hairstyle!
Awww Olaf! Hollywood Studios has always been my least favorite of the 4 parks, and since I’m not a Star Wars person the huge overhaul is leaving lots to be desired for me. And whaaaat they’re getting rid of the Tower of Terror?! That’s one of their most known and best rides! Glad you guys got to enjoy it one last time even if it’s not one of your favs. Happy Friday gurlie <3

I guess I was misinformed, and Tower of Terror only is gone at Disneyland. My bad! Olaf was so cute, just a nice and quick meet ‘n’ greet!
Tower of Terror was always my favorite ride!! The boardwalk looks so pretty at night and smart of you guys to head there earlier to try to beat the heat!! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
We did our best, but it was still so warm!
I love BoardWalk at night! And I LOVE Trattoria al Forno (I even blogged about it Monday!) Haha! And I almost hate to tell you this but… they aren’t closing Tower of Terror at Disney World, only Disneyland and it closed in January. So crazy HS was so busy when you went, that’s the park I can always count on to not be super busy! <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes
Yes, I saw that Monday – such good food! Guess I was misinformed about Tower of Terror, go figure. I wouldn’t have gone on it then, lol.
WAIT WHAT THEY ARE GETTING RID OF THE TOWER OF TERROR WHAT WHAT WHAT. WHAT. seriously what? i will never go back. that is our favourite ride. seriously. i am so sad. they aren’t getting rid of it in disneyland as well are they?
that’s hilarious about the storm troopers. KC is a fairly big star wars fan, but the old stuff. he’s seen the new movies but he hates that disney is disney-fying it. his words. haha.
just googled it and the one in california is already gone. my heart. it’s broken.
The Disney World one isn’t closing, just Disneyland! It’s my favorite ride too and I’d chain myself to it if they tried to close it here π hahaha!
oh thank goodness Pamela! I’m so upset! I texted KC and he was upset too. It’s our favourite!
Aaahhh sorry to cause hysterics, lol. I had my info wrong.
i was seriously freaking out! lol. at least i know not to go back to disneyland now!
I love seeing Disney recaps since we have passes for Universal right now, I haven’t been to Disney in years. Looks like you had such a great time!
It was fun!
I haven’t been to Disney since I was in middle school, so I really love reading your recaps and hearing about the experience as an adult.
Also, I love your hair – would you be willing to do a blog post about it? Sorry if that’s a bother, it just looks so cute for summer
I’m so glad, I appreciate that! It’s always fun to share our trips.
I actually do have a tutorial for that hairstyle already! If you go up to my Beauty tab, it’s under Hair. I believe it’s called double French braid messy bun or something along those lines. Let me know if you have any questions!
So fun! And loving your braids + stripes here, lady!

Thanks, girl!
I hated how much Hollywood Studios had changed too, but I was so glad that we got pictures the last time we were there in front of the Sorcerer’s Hat before it was taken down. I can’t believe those Storm Troopers chased you! I totally would have freaked out too! Overall it sounds like you had the a great day at Hollywood Studios!
Oh gosh, I forgot about the Sorcerer’s hat! I think I was there one of the last years that was up, too. Those storm troopers were terrifying!
I love the picture of you guys holding tinkerbell, and I totally would have tried to run away from the stromtroopers too, haha. It’s always so funny to see people’s reactions on rides, the tower of terror sounds so scary!
I was being such a baby about that ride, lol. Ryan thought it was funny since I don’t normally get nervous for that type of stuff.
Looks like another fun day, what a funny story about being chased by Storm Troopers! So classically Karly, haha!
Classic Karly is right, haha!
What a fun experience! You’re pictures are too cute! And the boardwalk looks so pretty at night. Glad you guys had a great trip! You are making me want to plan a trip to FL!
We loved The Boardwalk, it’s such a hidden gem there. I could go for the Florida weather again right about now!
