Currently | January 2017 Edition

I love myself a good catch-up post. They are some of my favorite to both read and write! So, let’s get into currently January 2017 edition.

Wearing …

a typical Midwest winter uniform – jeans, chunky sweaters, flannels and scarves. I’m also slowly adding some color back in my wardrobe. When the sun hasn’t been out in weeks, a pop of color in my outfit helps to remind me that spring will be here eventually.

Watching …

Victoria on Masterpiece Classic. OH EM GEE – I LOVE THIS SHOW. I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned that Queen Victoria is one of my favorite historical figures, so I was beside myself when they announced this new series in Downton Abbey’s former time slot. If you watched and loved The Crown, I think you’d enjoy this, too. I also started The Paradise on Netflix, which (so far) is a cute BBC series.

Listening to …

Sara Bareilles. Her music just gets me and my moods.

Reading …

like a crazy woman! I’m already six books in for 2017. I finally got my hands on One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid from the library, so that’s what I’m on now. After that, it’s time for After I Do by the same author.

Currently January 2017 Edition reading Lauren Graham memoir

One of the best memoirs I’ve ever read!

Eating …

Skinnytaste Slow Cooker Chicken Burrito Bowls. No joke, we make this recipe almost weekly. The chicken is so delicious and easy to throw together. It also heats up well for leftovers.

Enjoying …

the process of picking out all our new bedroom furniture! In case you missed it, I shared our inspiration board in this post. Since then, we ordered this headboard from Target and we’re going to see the Magnolia Market nightstands in person this weekend.

Loving …

Ali Fedowtosky’s blog. Her fashion posts are on point and affordable. I’m also really digging her signature messy ponytail and hair color – next hair appointment, maybe? Plus, there’s no better way to read about The Bachelor than from a former contestant/Bachelorette.

Wishing …

that I could find Kristin Ess’ new hair product line at my local Target. Thank goodness for online shopping. Meanwhile, I’m still obsessed with this curling iron.

Looking forward to …

Ryan’s extended weekend off that starts at 2 p.m. today (!); a quick overnight trip this weekend to visit my parents and grandparents and to stop at IKEA, of course; and an upcoming collaboration with a local photographer and new friend.

What have you been up to lately?

Linking up with Jenn.

    • You are too sweet! My haircut actually is a mess, so those curls are the best way to hide the uneven layers. I’m glad I’m not the only one obsessed with those burrito bowls!

  16. Your hair looks gorgeous in that bottom picture! Six books in 2017 is awesome. I’m way behind on my reading goals so far for the year. I’ve only finished one book, and I’m in the midst of two now, trying to figure out which one I’m going to get more “into” first. First world problems, ha!
