Weekly Loves & Links

Oh, hey there! Long time no see. I’ve been a bit quiet around here and on social media this week because Ryan unexpectedly took a few extra days off work. I wanted to disconnect as much as I could so we could enjoy the extra time together.

Weekly Links & Loves Casual Fall Look

Outfit details here

We really didn’t do anything special or out-of-the-norm this week, but we did make progress on home projects. After a trip to IKEA last Friday, our loveseat is up and running in the sitting room. The room reveal (hopefully) should be coming soon! Our half bathroom also is coming along great. We stained the new vanity top, and now we just have to set the sink in and put up some decor. Otherwise, I also am hard at work with some other updates around the house. We’re hosting Ryan’s side of the family for Thanksgiving this year, so the pressure is on to get things finished and looking good!

To help get your weekend started, here’s a roundup of my weekly loves and links.

| Obviously, the best news of the week – Netflix released the full-length Gilmore Girls trailer. All. The. Feels.

| I’m in the market for a new blow dryer, and Real Simple recommends a few good ones. Anybody tried these or have another recommendation?

| Curl cream for all hair types? Yes, please.

| I can’t wait to give these 10 Starbucks ordering hacks a go.

| James Corden struck gold the past couple weeks – first, Role Call with Tom Cruise and then Carpool Karaoke with Lady Gaga. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Have a great weekend, all – see you next week!

Hosting Thanksgiving and home renovations! You’re a rockstar. Show me your ways. Oh and Gilmore Girls! I’m counting down the days. That trailer definitely gave me all the feels too!

Right?! I’ve watched it more times than I care to admit because I just. can’t. wait. And, you’re so sweet! I definitely think it’s going to come down to the wire finishing up our current home projects and Thanksgiving, but that’s how we seem to live around here. Lol. 🙂

So many great home improvements- that’s awesome! I’m impressed that you have time be productive like this, teach me how! Also, super stocked for Gilmore Girls!

Oh girl, I wish we had a secret formula to share! Honestly, we’re probably not the best role models because we become consumed with our house and all the projects that we don’t leave a lot of time for anything else!

  6. 10.28.16

That’s so exciting that you get to host for Thanksgiving! It’s always a little stressful cooking and getting everything ready for everybody, but the best part about hosting is that you don’t have to drive home because you’re already home! I seriously got so excited when I saw the Gilmore Girls trailer! It looks so good, and I can’t wait that it’ll be out in less than a month!

I totally agree with you! Selfishly, that’s kind of why we wanted to host Thanksgiving this year. We always seem to be the ones traveling all over the place, and it can get to be a bit much, especially for Finn. Plus, I want to show off all the improvements in the house!

  7. 10.28.16

oh my goodness, hosting thanksgiving! you go girl! i only allowed myself to watch the gilmore girls trailer once, trying not to get too obsessed yet haha

    • 10.30.16

You have self-restraint – pretty sure I’ve watched it like 10 times already, lol. I’ve only done Thanksgiving one other time – also for Ryan’s side of the family – when we still lived in a townhouse in Iowa. I didn’t know how to cook, and I barely had any utensils. Fingers crossed it’s different this time around.

Watching the Gilmore Girls trailer has me feeling very nostalgic about all the times we watched that show together, can’t wait to see where they take us next. I finally watched carpool karaoke with Lady Gaga, she is amazing! Epic Super Bowl show for sure coming up! I’m currently using the Rusk Speed Freak hairdryer, but have had good luck with Hot Tools as well. Hope you have a good weekend, go Cubbies!!

It sounds like you guys have had such a nice relaxing (but productive) break this week! I’ve never seen Gilmore Girls, but the more I hear about it coming back, the more I want to watch it!

I will for sure, girl! I’m leaning toward a Rusk Speed Freak right now, but since it’s a little pricey, I might hold off and ask for it for Christmas. 🙂
