My Best Skin Ever

It’s no secret that I suffer from acne. It’s something that I’ve had to deal with since my early teenage years, and I pretty much have tried everything in the book – multiple dermatologists, oral medications, prescription cleansers and spot treatments, etc. While each of those solutions seemed to do the trick for a period of time, nothing stuck for the long haul. When my skin was going through a particularly bad outbreak at the beginning of the year, I made it my personal year-long goal and mission to achieve my best skin ever and I’m happy to report that as we’re now halfway through 2016, I’ve reached my goal! All thanks to the popular brand La Roche-Posay.

How I Achieved My Best Skin Ever with La Roche-Posay

Best Skin Ever

I heard rave reviews about La Roche-Posay in the past, but it wasn’t until I came across their Effaclar Dermatological 3-Step Acne System that I decided to give it a go. Since it’s a starter kit and only trial sizes of the products, I figured worst case scenario is that I’d be out $30 with my skin exactly the same, or worse, as it was before. Well, after a week of use – everyday, twice a day with no excuses – I was (and still am!) a believer.

What sets this skin care system apart from others that I’ve tried is that it didn’t further irritate my skin when it already was at its worse – the products didn’t sting or create an uncomfortable tingling sensation, and they didn’t excessively dry out my skin. They actually work quite the opposite – I find my skin to be a lot more balanced, nourished and hydrated than it ever has been. I also didn’t have to suffer through that whole “it will get worse before it gets better” period – who has time for that anyways when your skin already is a mess?! I saw positive results within the first couple days of consistent use, and I haven’t turned back since.

Best Skin Ever

I have since repurchased full sizes of the medicated cleanser (twice!) and the toner – the tube of the Dual Action Acne Treatment has lasted from the starter kit since I only need to use that as needed to spot treat any rogue breakouts. But, I’m happy to report that those pesky random breakouts are far and few between these days. Honestly, the fact that I’m even comfortable to post photos on the Internet of myself without a stitch of makeup on says something – I don’t think I’ve ever been this confident with a bare face!

Best Skin Ever

If you also struggle with acne, I highly recommend that you try this system. Obviously, everybody’s skin is different so what works for me may not work for you, but I’m also pretty confident that the La Roche-Posay Effaclar line is the answer to get rid of stubborn acne for good.

Do you have to deal with acne? What tricks or tips have you found work best for you and your skin?

Yay so glad you shared this! It’s the best when you finally find something that works & sets like this take away so much of the trial and error trying to find products that work well on your skin and together. You look amazing!

i am so glad you found something that works for you! i haven’t had bad acne in a really long time, i did when i was a teenager and it was no fun. i recently took some biotin to make my hair grow and that made me break out like a teenager again and i hated it! i normally go bare faced most days and it made me feel really gross and self conscious and like i had to wear makeup. horrible feeling! thankfully i’m all cleared up now, but with some scars/marks. boo. i need to find a way to get rid of those!

Ugh, acne scars are the worst! I’m actually trying a serum right now from this same brand that is supposed to help with that. I have some bad ones on my cheeks!

i don’t have acne but i have really dry, sensitive skin. then my body decided to rage against itself and my face freaked out; as in it turned super red, super sensitive and even talking hurt. it was awful. i couldn’t even use any of my face products other than argan oil. so i turned to my acupuncturist who has been treating me for hormonal imbalance and facial acupuncture. on that first visit, it was like night and day and over the course of 4 treatments, my skin (and hormones) is finally back to normal!!

You are so sweet, thank you! I’m actually trying a serum right now from the same brand that is supposed to help with hyperpigmentation (I have some bad marks on my cheeks, too). I’ll be sure to report back how it is!

I am so glad that you were able to find a solution! I struggled for so long – like 5th grade through college and the only thing that worked was doing Accutane…multiple times. Props for taking a no make up picture – you look fabulous!

I had reached that point one time in my early teenage years, but my mom was determined to find a different solution for me. I’m glad I’m able to keep it under control now with not as harsh products!

You look so beautiful without makeup on! It really is hard to find a skincare regimen that works for you, but it sounds like you found it with La Roche-Posay. That’s awesome that the Dual Action Treatment has lasted from your first kit!

Thank you, friend! I know, I’m glad that stuff has lasted a long time because that’s one of the more expensive things from the line when you buy it individually!

So glad you have found a product line that works for you! I have been very lucky to never suffer from acne but I have always struggled to find skincare that I love. I actually posted about my new favorite skincare line today. I love how safe it is and that makes me feel good about using it!

So glad to hear that you found a system that works for you!! I’ve never tried the brand, but I like that it has all the steps you need within in…like I don’t have to use a separate toner and then another brand for moisturizer…xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
