It’s no secret that I suffer from acne. It’s something that I’ve had to deal with since my early teenage years, and I pretty much have tried everything in the book – multiple dermatologists, oral medications, prescription cleansers and spot treatments, etc. While each of those solutions seemed to do the trick for a period of time, nothing stuck for the long haul. When my skin was going through a particularly bad outbreak at the beginning of the year, I made it my personal year-long goal and mission to achieve my best skin ever and I’m happy to report that as we’re now halfway through 2016, I’ve reached my goal! All thanks to the popular brand La Roche-Posay.
How I Achieved My Best Skin Ever with La Roche-Posay
I heard rave reviews about La Roche-Posay in the past, but it wasn’t until I came across their Effaclar Dermatological 3-Step Acne System that I decided to give it a go. Since it’s a starter kit and only trial sizes of the products, I figured worst case scenario is that I’d be out $30 with my skin exactly the same, or worse, as it was before. Well, after a week of use – everyday, twice a day with no excuses – I was (and still am!) a believer.
What sets this skin care system apart from others that I’ve tried is that it didn’t further irritate my skin when it already was at its worse – the products didn’t sting or create an uncomfortable tingling sensation, and they didn’t excessively dry out my skin. They actually work quite the opposite – I find my skin to be a lot more balanced, nourished and hydrated than it ever has been. I also didn’t have to suffer through that whole “it will get worse before it gets better” period – who has time for that anyways when your skin already is a mess?! I saw positive results within the first couple days of consistent use, and I haven’t turned back since.
I have since repurchased full sizes of the medicated cleanser (twice!) and the toner – the tube of the Dual Action Acne Treatment has lasted from the starter kit since I only need to use that as needed to spot treat any rogue breakouts. But, I’m happy to report that those pesky random breakouts are far and few between these days. Honestly, the fact that I’m even comfortable to post photos on the Internet of myself without a stitch of makeup on says something – I don’t think I’ve ever been this confident with a bare face!
If you also struggle with acne, I highly recommend that you try this system. Obviously, everybody’s skin is different so what works for me may not work for you, but I’m also pretty confident that the La Roche-Posay Effaclar line is the answer to get rid of stubborn acne for good.
Do you have to deal with acne? What tricks or tips have you found work best for you and your skin?
