We made it to Friday! Anybody else feel like this was the week that wouldn’t end? I always seemed to be a day ahead of myself this week – probably because it was quiet in the land of kitchen renovation and I didn’t have people constantly coming and going from the house.
I’m looking forward to a relatively quiet weekend around here – we’re going on week two of Ryan working throughout the weekend, so I’m going to use the alone time to get caught up on laundry and cleaning (we finally have our washer/dryer back after a week!) and some work/blog stuff. We’re also supposed to experience some low 90-degree temps tomorrow, which means lots of time lounging on the deck – with lots of sunscreen, of course!
A few things on my mind and radar this week …
| Well, we have to quickly discuss the “two-night Bachelorette event” this week. I need to retract my statement from this post to officially announce that I’m Team Luke. He seems incredibly genuine, and I like the fact that he’s a little older than most of the guys and has had a lot of life experience (being a soldier in the war will do that to you, I’m sure). I think Jordan has alternative motives to being on the show, and he’s overall giving me a weird vibe now. And, Chad – oh, sweet Chad. He is a complete train wreck, but it does make for entertaining TV. The conversation between him and Alex (who I also can’t stand) in the woods before JoJo came back to hand out the rose was one of the best TV situations that I’ve ever witnessed. There were too many good one-liners to even keep track.
| If you’re a frequent beauty-product consumer, this article from Racked about how millennials are changing how beauty products are bought is a must-read. I agreed with so many points that the article made, especially when it discusses how we as consumers do a lot of research before making any type of purchase these days.
| Did you catch any of the clips from The Little Mermaid Live at the Hollywood Bowl? No? Well, go check it out now. Sara Bareilles has been my girl way before anyone else even knew who she was, and now I love her that much more as Ariel.
| Emily’s (Cupcakes and Cashmere) office space reveal is everything I knew it would be and more. I think all of us should have a neon sign of our blog name hanging somewhere in our offices, just saying.
| With the arrival of summer, I think several of us are suffering from a lack of motivation in the blogging department. Some weeks are better than others, but I know that I’ve constantly needed to walk away, regroup and refocus just to sometimes get one post written and scheduled. These 15 tips to stay inspired have been really helpful, and they’re all ridiculously easy to incorporate into your routine.
I hope that you all have a great weekend! See you around here next week!
