Happy Tuesday, and welcome back to those of you who had an extra long weekend! I sincerely envy you – Ryan and I had such a fun weekend together that I didn’t want it to end.
Friday, we headed up to Appleton, Wis., which is about a 35 to 40-minute drive for us, to indulge in some much-needed retail therapy. Since Fond du Lac doesn’t have an abundance of shopping choices, it really is a treat for us to visit a “normal” mall and shop at stores that we otherwise only visit when visiting family or shop online. While I didn’t have much luck in the clothing department, I did pick up quite a few beauty goodies from Ulta (hello, NYX powder contour palette!), and I got to play personal shopper/stylist for Ryan in American Eagle. Does anybody else enjoying picking out clothes for their guys? I think it is ridiculously fun, and I’m lucky that Ryan allows me to pick out most of what he buys (granted, I know what he will/won’t like).
Saturday, we ran a few more errands, including a trip to Target so I could pick up a few more beauty goodies, and then we headed to the grocery store to stock up for the bitter cold temperatures that were coming our way. When we took these photos, it was about 7 F outside – that’s what I call dedicated. #bloggerlife

With a high of 0 F and a windchill that made it feel like -25, Sunday was spent inside with sweatpants, coffee and my heated blanket. Ryan made more progress on painting our formal living room and dining room, and I’m excited to see it all starting to come together – time to start thinking about decor!
I hope that everybody is off to a good start to the week!
