I’ve teased our latest DIY home project on Snapchat (msinthemidwest) for months, and today I’m excited to finally share a few photos of our closet mudroom!
For a little trip down memory lane, here’s a photo of this hallway right after we moved in. Those large folding doors to the left are the entry to the closet.
With the garage door straight ahead, you probably can assume my issue with this space – if we had the doors open to the closet, nobody could come in or out through the garage without banging into the doors. And, since we don’t exactly have a traditional entryway or mudroom area, there’s no place to sit down to put on or take off shoes and coats except the stairs.
So, off the closet doors came and Ryan made my closet mudroom dreams a reality!
This space is everything that I ever hoped it would be – Ryan really did a great job of taking mental notes of different pictures that I showed him of what I wanted and didn’t want and combined all of that into the space that we now have. He even custom-built those drawers underneath the bench for extra storage of shoes and miscellaneous items!
Just like every other project that we’ve tackled to-date in our home, this is another space that meets my top two requirements – pretty and functional (in that order, too).
