Welcome back from the long weekend! How was it for everybody? Ryan only was off work yesterday for the holiday, so we took advantage by making yet another trip to Menard’s (if you follow me on Snapchat @msinthemidwest, you probably saw/heard my excitement), making major progress on home projects, and enjoyed an annual neighborhood fish boil at a neighbor’s house. It was a hot and humid weekend, the perfect way to send off summer!
Although I dress casually on a daily basis, there’s something extra special about dressing for the weekend – there seems to be less fuss and worry about putting together an outfit, and there’s just a general ease about it being the weekend. Does anybody else feel this way? As always, I like to keep things casual but polished and refined – my favorite way to do so is to layer a blazer or lightweight jacket over a tank and complete the look with a pair of tailored shorts or jeans. Since we are now entering the stage of in-between weather where it will be warm one day and cool the next, I know I can rely on this type of outfit to carry me through the next few weeks.
