Saturday Style

This past Saturday, Ryan and I checked out Fond du Lac’s annual Fondue
Fest. While we didn’t actually eat any fondue – the line at that tent
was ridiculously long – we did indulge in some good ol’ fashion fest
food, visited booths of local vendors and artisans, and discovered a few
local bands.

While I’m chomping at the bit to exclusively switch over to chunky knit sweaters and blanket scarves, it can be a tricky time of year to dress in the Midwest – one day it’s a high of 60 F, while the next it could be back up in the 80s. My solution? A pair of distressed skinnies, a soft, lightweight sweater, and slip-on sneakers. This outfit, along with a low-maintenance, messy half-up hairdo and my new go-to purse for the fall, proved to be the perfect balance between keeping me warm in the shade and cool when the sun was out while at the fest. Also, I’m thrilled that it’s finally seasonally acceptable to wear an outfit that solely consists of shades of black and gray – that’s just my kind of vibe.
