Currently …

Happy Monday, everybody! I hope you all had a nice weekend.

I am the first to admit that I’ve been playing catchup lately when it comes to blogging and social media – I’m not sure if it’s because summer finally is here or life in general is just hectic, but as of late I constantly feel behind. And, let me tell you – that is one of the worst possible feelings I could ever have.

Anyways, with falling a bit behind recently, I thought today was a great opportunity to dive into another Currently post because these and Lately posts are some of my favorites to read from other bloggers since it’s a way to catch up with what’s going on in everybody’s lives.

So, I’m currently …

Dreaming …
of our anniversary trip to Puerto Rico in October! Ryan and I joke all the time that we need to stop booking our vacations so far in advance – this one has been settled since March, and now it seems like it never will be here!

Planning …
Saturday’s family barbecue for Father’s Day! It’s the first time I’ll have my whole family at the house and really one of the first times that I’ve hosted a party solo.

Cooking …
panini’s. Lots and lots of panini’s. My favorite combination lately is sourdough bread with pesto, mozzarella cheese, roma tomatoes and lettuce. Yum.

Drinking …
Diet Coke. We rarely ever buy soda, but we bought a few 12 packs that were on sale to plan in advance for the barbecue and one of those made its way into our fridge. #sorrynotsorry

Reading …
I’m so mad at myself to admit that I haven’t picked up a book since finishing Girl On The Train. In the meantime, I’ve been catching up on magazines, specifically Everyday with Rachel Ray.

Wanting …
this Samsung camera. The price officially has been lowered on Amazon, so I think this is going to be one necessary purchase before Puerto Rico.

Looking …
for a cute, non-skimpy pink bikini. Is that so hard to ask for?! I’ve looked everywhere with no luck. Suggestions are welcome.

Enjoying …
Finn’s second-round of obedience class! Our instructor is awesome, and Finn has been much more receptive to learning this time around. We even think we’re going to continue onto an intermediate course.

Watching …
the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup final – hopefully they bring home the cup tonight at home!

Playing …
Two Dots. That game is ridiculously addicting.

Wasting …
nothing, I hope – I don’t have a lot of time or anything else to waste right now!

Loving …
how our family room is finally coming together – the built-ins are nearly decorated, a couple pieces of decor are en route, and the coffee table will be coming with my parents Saturday. I can’t wait to show you the space!

Needing …
to get a professional manicure and pedicure. Sometimes, the DIY route can only get you so far.

Wearing …
sundresses – short or maxi. All day, everyday. Oh, and the color blue – I can’t get enough.

Following …
City Farmhouse, one of my new favorite blogs!

Thinking …
about potentially incorporating some YouTube beauty vlogs into this space for posts like beauty empties, monthly favorites, etc. I’m not sure yet if I have the guts to do it – would any of you even watch it?! ๐Ÿ™‚

Feeling …
recharged, motivated and inspired. Thanks to all of YOU for sticking with me.

  3. I was on the edge of my seat last night until it was over. We also heard horns (including a guy with an air horn, sheesh…) and cheers until like 1 AM. Soo, getting up today was a little tough lol. The parade is on Thursday but I have to work when it is going on. ๐Ÿ™ Did you notice that her blog was all in Swedish? Hehe. She is really pretty. Hopefully she comes by the store again soon too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. We stayed in Isla Verde but I think they're pretty close to one another. I would definitely recommend taking a day and going into Old San Juan. It's such a pretty and historic area with lots to see. If you go down there you MUST eat at Cafe Puerto Rico. Our cab driver recommended it to us and said it has great authentic Puerto Rican food and we were so pleased!

  5. I can't wait to have everybody here! Yes, Mother Nature definitely needs to get it together, and Finn is purely here for everybody's entertainment. I think he knows he's such a ham!

  7. You are so right! And, solely because you would be my #1 fan, maybe I'll muster up enough confidence to start videos. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I think you're so right – I'm trying not to be too hard on myself. I can't believe I only just discovered City Farmhouse, I'm basically obsessed.

  9. Thank goodness I'm not the only one who has been feeling that way – there seriously aren't enough hours in the day lately! Plus, when it's so nice outside, I just don't want to be inside at my desk. The struggle is real! I wish we lived closer so we could collaborate on a first video together – how fun would THAT be?!

  15. Thanks, lady – you, too!

  16. Right? I'm the same way with professional manicures, but I do enjoy having someone else do my toes. I never thought of Zappos – thanks for the suggestion, lady!

  17. Ha! Well, I'm glad to hear I'd have a couple people watching the videos. ๐Ÿ™‚

Really looking forward to the barbeque on Saturday! Love the way you approach your blog with such honesty, we all "fall behind" sometimes, myself included! I think the weather lately is partly to blame – could Mother Nature please turn off the water faucet and make it feel like summer again please? The pic of Finn is hilarious, he truly is an entertaining dog! GO HAWKS!!

I have been feeling totally the same way, somehow the days just seem to vanish! Isn't it the worst when you have ideas but just don't have time to get them done? I've actually been thinking about videos too – I love "get ready with me" posts but doing it in photos is so difficult! I would love to watch yours!!

  36. Love this post lady! I would love to see some beauty videos. You know that I fully support going to get a professional mani/pedi too haha. ๐Ÿ™‚ Waiting for a vacation kinda stinks, but at least it's the summer. If it were the winter it would be much more difficult. As for the game tonight, they are fighters and I believe in them. Plus our team are a better looking group of guys. At work we all have our Blackhawks boyfriends haha. And oh my gosh, Hjalmarsson's wife bought stuff where I work and she's a fashion blogger! ๐Ÿ™‚
