There are two things that I rarely ever wear in public: sweatpants and
printed bottoms. Why? Well, I always feel sloppy if I go out in pants
that I sleep in (even in college I felt this way), and printed bottoms
never seem to appear flattering on me – probably because I don’t want to
emphasize my hips and thighs anymore than I need to.
Well, clearly I’m breaking both my rules with these pants – hello
comfortable-but-still-appropriate-for-public-wear pants. These pants are
so lightweight, which will make them a great transitional piece into
summer whether they are worn more casually, like I did for this post, or
a tad dressier with a flowy, chiffon tank and wedges. I even could see
myself throwing these on over my bathing suit with an over-sized white
button-down – the options are limitless!
I also have to
give props to the pattern, especially for the fact that it’s in black
and white – the black minimizes anything unflattering that I don’t want
to show, but the white floral print keeps the pants from appearing
boring or too much like a pair of black sweatpants.
On a final note, today’s post is bidding farewell to my long hair! After weeks of speculation and all your great feedback from last week’s favorites post, the ever-popular lob cut is in my near future (Thursday). I can’t wait to share the new look with you!
