High Five for Friday

Happy Friday, all!

How was everybody’s week? It finally reached the 70’s here in northern Wisconsin, so it’s been a glorious few days of sunshine and long walks with Finny. Not to mention that it also appears that good weather seems to make me more productive – I’ll take anything that I can get!

Here’s a few highlights from the week.

1. As I was leisurely strolling through my Instagram feed the other day, I came across Redbook Magazine’s latest post and did a double-take – they featured one of the photos that I submitted for their Real Women Style contest! I pretty much lost my marbles when I saw this considering that is one of my all-time favorite magazines. Voting will be open to the public in a couple weeks, so I’m sure I’ll be asking for some support from all of you!

2. I managed to finish Friday Night Lights – what an awesome show! I’m disappointed in myself that I didn’t watch it when it actually was on TV, but then again, this way I didn’t have to wait a week between episodes! I thought the last season was starting to drag a bit, so I’m glad that it ended on a high note.

3. Anybody else a fan of the show Fixer Upper on HGTV? Well, to say that I’m obsessed is an understatement. The home that they renovated on this week’s season finale was one of my favorites to-date, and they also used the same paint color as we did in our family room – Alpaca from Sherwin Williams. So now my new life mission is to recreate the same type of look in our family room.

4. Girl on the Train is officially read and finished. It was an awesome book – it had me guessing until the very end. It has been compared to a similar premise as Gone Girl, but I found this to be way better and more suspenseful. So, if you enjoy those types of fiction novels, you’ll certainly like this one.
5. No week would be complete without a photo of my boys, right? Finn has been extra cozy with his daddy lately, even falling asleep on his arm.
Have a great weekend!

That family/dining area is to die for gorgeous! The Girl on the Train is on my summer reading list! I haven't heard anyone else compare it to Gone Girl and I LOVED Gone Girl but found it a little predictable so I'm excited to try GOTT.
