Awhile back, Nadia introduced me to The Creative Closet. Not only did this linkup introduce me to two of my now-favorite bloggers, Jana and Maegen, it also helped me think outside the box with my weekly style posts.
You can imagine my excitement when I signed up to co-host today’s linkup, and the prompt was one of my very favorite clothing prints – stripes!
If there was one print that I could wear for the rest of my life, it more than likely would be stripes. There’s something so classic about them, whether they’re on a shirt, a pair of shoes or part of an accessory. Audrey Hepburn was often seen in a simple striped top with cropped pants and a pair of flats – if that uniform is good enough for her, it sure is for me and any other woman out there.
Although I don’t typically pair this much color together in one outfit, I couldn’t resist the combination of pastel pink skinnies and a bright yellow and white striped shirt. Yellow is a color I tend to steer away from since it doesn’t mesh well with my blonde hair or skin tone, but I was pleasantly surprised that this shade of yellow didn’t wash me out.
And, since I was getting an overall girly nautical vibe from this outfit, Ryan and I took the opportunity to explore Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin’s largest lake, that we only live 10 minutes from! With a lighthouse, multiple gazebos, parks and even a petting zoo, I have a hunch that we will be spending quite a bit of time over there throughout the summer months.
Don’t forget to link back to Jana’s or Amanda’s posts and let people know that you’re joining us for The Creative Closet! You also can share the button in your sidebar or at the end of your post.
Can’t wait to see everybody in fabulous florals next week!
