A Few of My Favorite Things (Christmas Gift Recap)

Welcome back, all!

I hope all of you had a wonderful (and relaxing!) holiday surrounded by close family and friends. Ryan and I enjoyed our first Christmas Eve together in our new home and were able to implement a few new traditions of our own before we headed off to my mom and dad’s house on Christmas Day to celebrate the remainder of the holiday and my dad’s birthday.

Although my favorite part of the holiday season is spending quality time with my family, it also is nice to receive a few things that were on my wish list, as well as a few surprises! I was lucky enough to be gifted with several useful gifts – hello Snapware containers and Pet Perfect DustBuster – that I probably otherwise wouldn’t buy for myself, but I was even luckier to receive several beauty products and accessories that I’ve been lusting after all year!

As if I don’t already own enough eye shadow palettes, a true makeup junkie simply can’t help herself, right?! Seeing as the first Lorac Pro palette is my holy grail of all eye shadow palettes, I’m sure I will love the second one just as much. The It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty palette wasn’t on my list, but my mom surprised me with it, and I’m so glad that she did – I tend to gravitate toward matte eye shadows, and that’s all that this palette encompasses. Not to mention that I’m slightly obsessed with the velvet case – so luxe! I probably am most excited for the MAC Warm Neutral palette because I’ve never tried, let alone owned, any MAC shadows. This quickly could become my everyday palette.

This Kate Spade watch has been on my radar forever, so I’m thrilled that I finally have it in my possession! It will be the perfect neutral, everyday watch, and my sister and brother-in-law surprised me with a Kate Spade bangle that will pair perfectly with the watch. It was fate! I also received the blush monogrammed Fotostrap that was on my list, as well as the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue perfume. (Summer, hurry up and get here so I can wear that perfume all season long!) I also received a bonus Tiffany & Co. charm from Ryan this year – a dog bone to commemorate Finley joining our family! Typically, I only get a new charm when we go to a new vacation spot, but I guess Ryan made an exception this year since Finn basically is our child.

Lastly, but certainly not least, Ryan surprised me with a whole bunch of new tech goodies to pimp out my office! Since I am on the computer almost all day everyday, my new monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse are going to be lifesavers. The monitor might as well be a small TV – I could happily sit in my office and watch movies on my computer with that thing! I’m also itching to set up my new studio lights – those are going to help tremendously with blog photos!

Keep an eye out tomorrow for a couple additional gifts, compliments of my sister and brother-in-law, that will be featured in a new style post. Hint: they let me channel my inner Great Gatsby-era style, even in these frigid temperatures.

How was your holiday? Did Santa bring you some goodies?

@Disneyland is full of hidden scenes and little details. This area in particular, right around the corner from Fantasyland, was my favorite of them all! Maybe because we were there early before the crowds came pouring in, or maybe I was taking a moment to be nostalgic ... either way this was the first time in a few months that I felt happy and 100% myself. Perhaps that’s the magic of Disney that Walt always talked about. #adultsatdisney #disneyland
