In-Flight Beauty Essentials

With Ryan and I mere days away from jet-setting off to Las Vegas, I’m starting to gather the beauty items that I want with me in my purse or carry-on tote so I can freshen up before we board the airplane and after we land. To avoid packing my entire makeup bag in my carry-on, I’m sticking to the absolute essentials that I’ll need to get me through the 3.5-hour flight.

Airports and planes tend to dry out my skin and lips, so my favorite lip balm and a travel-size bottle of lotion is crucial. I’ve been loving the Sonia Kashuk lotions for sometime now because they are thick and creamy, and the fragrance is sublime.

The Precision Q-tips are pretty much the best multipurpose tool ever, and they are easy to pack and cheap! I like to use these for any minor beauty blunder, such as to fix creasing under eye concealer or to remove mascara residue on my brow bone. Another great trick that I came across on Pinterest (where else?) is to put some of your blush on a cotton ball, and then seal it inside a plastic bag until you’re ready to use it. Is that not genius? Now I don’t have to carry my blush compact or a brush – I simply swipe the blush onto my cheeks, blend with my fingers, and toss the cotton ball in the trash. Easy peasy!

Once I’m off the plane, I like to use the Evian Facial Spray to help waken up my skin and rehydrate it – all that recirculated cabin air and pressure after several hours can do a number on my skin. This leaves me looking awake with fresh, healthy skin.

What are your beauty travel essentials?

Pssst – I’m taking over the Blogger Closet on Instagram for next few days! Huge thanks to Amanda for the opportunity – be sure to follow along!

  3. I always struggle with that dilemma – I would be heartbroken if my luggage got lost and didn't have my makeup bag, but I guess it's the risk I have to take. Fingers crossed I didn't just jinx myself!

  4. That's a great idea with a retractable kabuki brush! I never thought of that. I may have to add that to my bag.

  9. We are staying at the Mirage. And no, it's not a super long flight, but I still like to have my essentials with me in case. 🙂

  14. The blush tip really is genius! Although I'm usually guilty of throwing my entire makeup bag in my carry-on… only because I have no idea what I would do if my luggage were to get lost and it was in there!! Your trip will be here before you know it 🙂

I've never heard of that blush tip, that's genius!! I battle with shine after long flights so I usually load up my retractable kabuki brush with some powder and just take that along so I don't have to worry about mess or shattering a compact. Great tips!
