A Modern Betty Draper With eShakti

Betty Draper on Mad Men is one of my all-time favorite television characters. She is not your classic, traditional housewife – she’s sassy, opinionated, and above all, has impeccable style.

When eShakti contacted me to review one of their dresses, I took the opportunity to channel my inner-Betty and chose a collared button-down shirt dress with a classic a-line silhouette. And, to avoid looking too retro, I opted to leave a few of the top buttons undone to reveal a hot pink lace bandeau and lips to match – I like to think that Mrs. Draper (or, whatever her new married name is on the show) would approve.

Dress: c/o eShakti

Lace Bandeau: Kohl’s (exact)
Shoes: Old Navy (similar)

With how impressed I am with the quality and look of this dress, I can’t believe I didn’t discover eShakti sooner. My favorite feature of this online retailer is that each item is customizable to your preferences – you can change the neckline, length and sleeves on most items, and you also can submit your personal measurements if your body type doesn’t work with typical number sizing. I ordered this dress as is in a size 4, and it fits me like a glove, which typically doesn’t happen for me with fitted dresses. And, with so many upcoming weddings that I’m scheduled to attend, I’m thrilled to have found a site with affordable, quality dresses.

Are you interested in ordering something from eShakti? Well, you’re in luck! Now through Sept. 14, you can get 10% off your purchase with the code whatkarlysaid. Happy shopping!

  7. Thanks, girl! And yes, that is our yard – our rental house is on nearly 1/2 an acre of land. We only have neighbors on one side of us, and then the other side is all woods. 🙂
