Favorite Liquid Foundations

I will never forget my first experience at the Clinique makeup counter with mom, which is where she took me to pick out and get color matched for my first liquid foundation. I believe I was in junior high and suffering from sensitive, acne-covered skin. Once the makeup artist applied the foundation and concealer to my skin, I was hooked. How could a tinted liquid make my skin look so flawless?

I’ve come a long way since my Clinique foundation days – I still love the brand, but they discontinued my favorite liquid foundation a long time ago – and I have experimented with several different brands of liquid foundation, both drugstore and high-end.

These foundations, without fail, have been my holy grail go-to liquid foundations throughout the past couple years. They provide a healthy range in coverage from sheer to full, and most importantly for me, they don’t irritate or dry out my skin.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua – The hype around this foundation is certainly well-credited. It offers a sheer-to-light coverage, and it really looks like your skin, but better, when applied.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light – If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you know this is my favorite liquid foundation of them all. It provides a solid medium coverage, but you can build it up to a more full coverage if applied correctly. I used this on my wedding day, and it lasted from morning to night with almost no touch-ups. This stuff is the real deal.

CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 – This is the newest foundation to my collection during the past year, but it ranks in power with some of it’s more expensive counterparts. When my skin is especially red or broken out, I turn to this full-coverage foundation since I don’t have to use a concealer on top of it. It lasts all day and blends beautifully when used with a damp makeup sponge or the Beauty Blender.

What is your go-to liquid foundation?

I like the sound of the Double Wear Light – I've always hear great things about the original formula but I thought it might be too heavy for my particular taste. I love the Stay Fabulous too – I'm wearing it right now!

I've been tempted to try the Double Wear Light– it always sounds like such a gorgeous product and I usually need more of a medium/buildable coverage. I actually think I might try the powder tarte foundation! I thought I was sold on the liquid version but now I'm changing my mind!

@Disneyland is full of hidden scenes and little details. This area in particular, right around the corner from Fantasyland, was my favorite of them all! Maybe because we were there early before the crowds came pouring in, or maybe I was taking a moment to be nostalgic ... either way this was the first time in a few months that I felt happy and 100% myself. Perhaps that’s the magic of Disney that Walt always talked about. #adultsatdisney #disneyland

  • I can’t stop obsessing over this book! It’s Behind-the-Music meets Almost Famous, and I had to constantly remind myself that I wasn’t reading an interview in Rolling Stone Magazine. I just love when a book comes around that makes me fall further in love with reading than I already am. Have you read it? What are you #currentlyreading? #bookworm #bookstagram
