Since my wardrobe has had to adapt to my new career and lifestyle during
the past year – transitioning from dressing up five days a week to
wearing whatever I want during the day – I have been trying to invest in
quality basic pieces, such as this chambray shirt.
I picked up the top from Banana Republic Factory Outlet last summer (they still sell it!), and I have been able to wear it several different ways with other items in my closet. I love that it is a lighter shade of blue instead of traditional denim chambray shirts, which makes it easier to pair with dark wash skinnies without it looking like a denim overload. The material also is an airy linen fabric, which makes it light enough for warm spring days but warm enough for our cooler Midwest evenings.
Paired with my favorite espadrille slip-ons, some gold accessories and a neutral cross-body, this outfit makes me feel put together and professional, even if I just plan to work inside on the computer or run errands.
What is your go-to casual, but put-together, spring look?
