5. Maybelline Color Whisper | 6. Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm | 7. Lip liner brands: MAC and Rimmel
I have become quite the lips product junkie during the past few years. I was never one to experiment with or even like lipstick; now, I rarely leave the house without it! It can completely transform your look, whether your makeup is natural or glam.
I frequently have dry, chapped lips, so prepping and priming them for product is essential in my routine. The Fresh Sugar Lip Polish is a gentle, but still effective, lip exfoliate that leaves my lips smooth. I swear by Too Faced’s Lip Insurance primer, but when I have budgetary constraints, the $3 e.l.f. lip primer and pumper does the trick just as well. Both products help to significantly lengthen the wear time of whatever lip product I’ve chosen for the day.
Since I use different lip products and colors almost every day, I couldn’t possibly narrow down my favorite lipstick shades. Instead, my go-to lipstick brands are Revlon, MAC and Rimmel. All these brands have a large selection of finishes and shades, so it is easy to experiment and find the right colors that complement your skin tone. I also am a big fan of the Maybelline Color Whisper lip balms and the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms. Both these products are highly pigmented but still yield a more natural, moisturizing effect on the lips.
I don’t always use lip liner, but when I want more defined lips (typically for a night out), MAC and Rimmel’s retractable lip liners are my favorites. I also like to use lip liner to fill in my lips before applying lipstick to help extend the wear.
Next week, I’ll be sharing my essential beauty tools!
