High Five for Friday

I think I say this almost every week, but I REALLY mean it today – TGIF! What a week. I’ve been quarantined to the house this whole week with a horrible head cold and sinus infection. I haven’t been this sick in a while, and I don’t do well with rest and relaxation. Needless to say, this week was a test on my patience.

Anyways, wherever you are and whatever your plans are for the weekend, I hope you have a great time! Here are my top five moments from the week.

1. Today is my Grandma Bette’s 91st birthday – happy birthday, Grandma! I hope at 91 (if I make it that long!) that I’m still kickin’ it in style like she is.

2. We are making a lot of progress in our rental home, including our new hallway art! I received the Des Moines neighborhood poster for my birthday a few years ago when we still lived there, so we thought it would be neat to build on the collection to include all the places we’ve lived. The hallway is small and narrow, so I think the prints make an impact without being overwhelming.

3. With being sick all week, I’ve had a lot of quality time with my couch and Netflix. I finally reached the season of Dawson’s Creek when Joey and Pacey get together – I just knew those two would end up together. For those of you who’ve seen the show, do they stay together? Does Katie Holmes’ acting skills ever improve? Bahahaha.

4. Ryan has been quite the doting husband lately in an effort to help me feel better. He’s brought me home chocolate Oreo concrete mixers from Culver’s, peanut butter M&M’s, and the nice kind of tissues that have lotion on them to help my raw nose not hurt so much. Although the first two items don’t do anything for my waist line, I appreciate his thoughtfulness more than he knows.

5. It finally happened – I saw deer in the woods across the street from our house! I was hoping to see just one or two, but instead, I saw a herd of eight. I didn’t have time to get the good camera, so this iPhone picture was the best I could do.

  2. I got my Milwaukee print from Lindsay Clayton Design on Etsy since Ork Posters didn't have that one – you should check there for your hometowns! She has lots of cities and size options.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  3. The Chicago and Des Moines prints are from Ork Posters; if you're looking for those exact ones, they always sell Chicago but the Des Moines print was a special edition. The Milwaukee print is from Lindsay Clayton Design on Etsy – she has any city you can think of and lots of different size options!

So sorry to hear you're still not feeling well! Sinus infections make you feel so miserable! I love the hallway art! I have a friend who also has a collection of a few of places they've visited! Ice cream and peanut butter m&ms sound like the perfect "feel better" treat to me 🙂

@Disneyland is full of hidden scenes and little details. This area in particular, right around the corner from Fantasyland, was my favorite of them all! Maybe because we were there early before the crowds came pouring in, or maybe I was taking a moment to be nostalgic ... either way this was the first time in a few months that I felt happy and 100% myself. Perhaps that’s the magic of Disney that Walt always talked about. #adultsatdisney #disneyland

  • I can’t stop obsessing over this book! It’s Behind-the-Music meets Almost Famous, and I had to constantly remind myself that I wasn’t reading an interview in Rolling Stone Magazine. I just love when a book comes around that makes me fall further in love with reading than I already am. Have you read it? What are you #currentlyreading? #bookworm #bookstagram
